Bambu support thinks this is normal

I’ve been working with support for a couple months on this problem I have on my P1P since firmware update 1.08. The ticket is now closed because they don’t see anything strange.

They say it’s normal, but to me it’s clearly not normal.
The print head smashes into the poop chute.
It happens when loading filament at the last time it stops at the chute, so after the last turnaround at 240 degrees.
Normally is slows down just before the chute, but from firmware 1.08 it doesn’t slow down and just smashes into the chute. This is normal says Bambu.
It also happens with all the new firmwares. Only before 1.08 works fine.

Whenever I go back to formware 1.07 the problem is gone.
The printer is fully stock.
I’ve tried factory resets, calibration, tightning of the belts, nothing changes it.
Anyone else with the same issue?

This is the video of the 1.08 firmware version. Can you spot the problem?

This is a long video. Where does the “smashing” occur?

I thought 46 seconds was pretty short. It is around 25 seconds.
I will make a version of less then 10 sec :grimacing:

Here is the shorter version:

Thanks, I did see that in your longer video, but I wouldn’t really describe it as “smashing” since it’s not actually pushing the machine beyond its designed limits. You could just as easily say the head “smashes” into the poop chute lever during the side movement at 41 seconds, but that lever is built for the print head to press into it.

Why not just edit your “Machine start G-code” so it does exactly what you want at startup, instead of relying on whatever Bambu Lab thinks is best?
