Bambu Support ticket questions

Hello

i am just going to quote a email from support i had in regard to my issues.

''2. Thoroughly clean the printing plate using hot water and a non-soap-based detergent. Ensure a comprehensive rinse before re-installing the plate onto the printer.

3. Load PLA filament onto the printer during the setup process.*

4. Download the model attached to this message and begin printing. Note that this model is pre-sliced for compatibility with the cool plate, and it is essential to keep the door open throughout the entire printing duration.

5. For a thorough evaluation of the test print, we kindly request you to share a video capturing the cube from different angles, including rotations and views from top to bottom. It is essential to acknowledge that surface wall artifacts are common in Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) prints, and their visibility may be influenced by lighting and perspective. Capturing footage from various angles will significantly enhance our ability to examine the outer wall surfaces.

The testing procedure is anticipated to take approximately one hour of print time and consume approximately 25 grams of filament. After receiving the print results, we will evaluate the quality and provide additional insights on resolving any issues you may encounter. I greatly appreciate your cooperation.‘’

The question i have is do i put adhesive on my cool plate to run this test print? it doesn’t mention for me to do that but i always have for every print i have done.
Anyone had to print this before by Bambu support?

Reason i am asking here is that i kind of need an answer today. I am away for a couple of weeks and would like to get it done before i go.

cheers

  1. I do not use the cool plate, what are the general recommendations by BL for using their cool plate?

  2. Providing what they replied to may help otherwise we’re only getting one side of the story here.

  3. The way alot of us learn anything about printing is to try things and see what happens. If you need an answer today and the print apparently takes one hour, I certainly hope you have already begun testing two times, one with and one without adhesive as more than likely you could solve this before receiving a confirmation you apparently are waiting for.

The plate itself has glue recommended, personally I’d follow the cleaning instruction and then give the area of the print a light run over with the glue stick. Not a thick one, just one light layer. Hope it works out for you.

BTW their methods may sound all over the place but it helps get to a solution quicker if you do follow what they need without skipping steps.

It probably depends on what you’re issue is. If it’s an issue with bed adhesion, then you should follow what they say and don’t put anything on the bed. If it’s anything else then I’d what you can to ensure the print finishes. They must know you have a cool plate at least.
I’m guessing you have problem with poor surface artefacts or layer shift?
