I want to design a sort of 3d printed roomba for cleaning my dog’s hair from my house. My idea is to use the handheld vacuum cleaner kit from bbl, but I don’t know how noisy it is. Can someone tell me more or less how noisy it is? ( or give me some tips 
)
Its not very loud, but motor is not very high power.
On that note, I do not think it would be strong enough for that purpose. But it is a good starting point to look at how that works and build your own system.
I would use some low KV RC motors. 2 for the drive wheels. 1 for the brush. 1 for the vacuum mechanism.
Ardupilot might be a good fit for this. It has autopilot features based on GPS but thats more fitting to a larger scale device like a robot lawnmower.
Anyway, you can always build in some sound insulation.
My idea is to start with the bbl kit+3d printed parts + arduino mega (for making it truly functional)+motors, sensors and lights.
Pet hair is difficult. I do not believe the bambu kit has satisfactory power for this. Unless you have hard flooring and a super short hair animal.
Your 2 problems will be:
A vacuum cleaner is kind of annoying to home make as it needs some good filters and air seals.
the AI to explore and clean a home
The vehicle to carry the vacuum is kinda easy, it’s just basic RC kit + an MCU like an Arduino, and a simple chassis as you don’t need suspension.
Ps you don’t need a rotating brush if you spin the vehicle instead. make it skid steer (steer by spinning left and right drive motors at different speeds or directions) and translate across the floor by varying the rotation. It will require computer assist to drive ( to spin while moving in a straight line )
And for example, with a bit of programming you can turn something like this (first prize in vacuum contest) into a fully automatic system. Is it efficient? How noisy is it? And by the way, I’ve never had an official roomba

I think your biggest concerns would be Battery runtime and the filter which gets “clogged” easily further reducing suction power.
There’s also this model, though it is remote controlled.
