My X1C’s micro SD card slot has finally given up completely. I’ve had the printer for a little over 3 years now, but the slot has been acting flakey for the past 2 years.
Early on, it would randomly corrupt cards every couple of months, but formatting them usually got things going again.
Lately, though, it won’t detect any card inserted at all.
The screen unit and touch functionality still work perfectly fine, and I can still print over Wi-Fi/LAN without issue thanks to the onboard memory, but losing the slot means no timelapses, video recording, or local log saving.
Here is what I have tried so far:
-
Multiple known-good micro SD cards (SanDisk Extreme, Samsung Pro Endurance, etc., formatted to FAT32).
-
Cleaned the slot gently with compressed air and electrical contact cleaner to clear any debris.
-
Checked the spring-loaded mechanism - it still clicks in and locks properly, but the printer just doesn’t register that a card is present.
Has anyone dealt with this failure on an older X1C?
Any ideas how to fix?
