BambuStudio: selected print plate vs. installed print plate

Hi guys,

I am having a hard time to find an answer to my question. I dont know if I am using the wrong search terms or whatever. So, here are my questions:

Lets say, I want to print PLA and in Bambu Studio, I picked the cool plate. But, installed in the X1C is the PEI print plate.

What will happen, if I am starting the print?
Will it abort the print? Will I get a notification, that the print plates are different?
Or will the print run throught without any issues?
What is the result of selecting a print plate in Bambu Studio? Will it load parameter into the print project?

Thanks

The X1C will give you a warning that the wrong plate is installed which pauses the print. You can choose to either ignore it or swap the plate for the correct one.

When will that warning appear? I assume, when its doing the probing, right?

The warning will appear after it scans the QR code of the bed which is before probing IIRC.

Before the actual print starts, it will pause and you’ll get a notice on the printer as well as in Studio, if connected. You can choose to Resume (ignore the issue) or Stop (cancel). The worst that can happen is that the bed temp will not be what you’d like it to be for the filament. Some bed types are not supported for some filaments (indicated by a zero for bed temp in the filament profile.)

If you have selected a textured plate in Studio, there is a tiny bit more “squish” added, but I have not found this to make a noticeable difference.

Ignoring it has always ended badly for me lol.

Thank you very much guys!

So, by selecting the print bed in Bambu Studio, it will load the data of the print plate into the print project? correct?

If by data you mean the bed temperature and speed/nozzle flow then yes.

It does not load the leveling data as that is created/stored on the printer.

Yes, I was reffering to data like the bed temperature.
