BambuStudio using more filament after upgrade

Has anyone noticed that after upgrading to version 1.8.2.56 the prints started to use more filament? I would like to know if any functionality was enabled by default in this new version that generated this behavior.

All parameters are default in both versions of the software, I just changed Brim Type to No Brim

1.8.2.56

1.7.7.89

After printing I used a scale to check, and the parts printed with the new software actually consume 10-15% more filament.

Interesting, I would have to rollback to test. but nice pickup!

changes to internal solid infill it seems (which takes also 30min longer)

I found the problem, it seems that the default profile has been changed.
On the left, we have the version 1.7.7.89
On the right, we have the version 1.8.2.56

If you are doing a multicolor print, it might be due to the automatic purge calculation. You can turn the feature off in settings. I personally like the feature because I hate it when the colors mix.

You could also adjust their suggested values to be a little less.

When on, it recalculates every time a color is added.

This is an awesome find! thanks Paulo! I was worried I would not be able to find the reason!

The new update to 1.9.1.67 also has that modification as default.

Seems on a P1P but not P1S, X1 etc - Can you confirm you have P1P or seing the same?

As I dont recall that much different previously on sparse infill and walls on the P1P
I didnt think the P1P was thtat much slower…possibly cooling\layer times due to the open frame…

All tests on 0.20mm Standard and 0.4mm Nozzle

Simple cube, P1P - Sparse infill time 8mins+

Simple cube, P1S - Sparse infill time 4mins+

Simple cube, X1C - Sparse infill time 4mins+

I have a P1P. Not only saw the change you mentioned but also And I saw that the walls count was changed from 2 to 3 loops, being this the main issue increasing the filament.

Some other variables like the with of the wall increased by .01 or .02 points.
