since the update bambu cool plate does not support abs and petg? do you have the same problem?
Is expected and in the release notes, they noticed issues with ABS and PETG on the cool plate sticking too well so it has been disabled.
Suggested to use another bed type or flip over the Cool Plate and use the Engineering side, marketing on the website has also been updated for a while but will take time for old stock of Cool Plates with ABS/PETG mentioned on them.
Ashley is correct. Bambu suggests using the PEI Textured plate for PETG.
You don’t use glue pen the PEI plate at all. I have printed PETG and PLA on it with no Issues at all they stick great and come off when completed even better.
Is there any way to override it? I’ve printed dozens of PETG prints just fine on the cool plate.
I used the cool plate all the time but cannot anymore.
When I install the updated software I don’t let it remove the earlier version.
If you do that you can still the earlier version to use the cool plate.
I have been using the PEI plate and it works great with PLA and PETG with no glue.
I’m using the Engineering plate now, so far so good. I used glue on the plate but print won’t be finished for another 10 hours.
It looks like petg and abs can be done on the engineering plate now. Just flip over the stock one and you are good to go. The software even shows abs on the engineering plate side.
Try putting a sticker on the code portion and ignore the warning on the screen that the plate is not recognised.
Disabling the marker recognition option is better, otherwise your print will be paused every time.
Gotcha. So far using the engineering plate is working so I guess it’s a non-issue. Only reason I had asked was I just wiped down a cool plate with glue and went to print and got the ‘error’ of not being able to use PETG all of a sudden.
Luckily I had extra plates so all good now.
