Has anyone noticed that bambu studio uses a lot of data? I normally leave it open while printing. We are on a shared router and the IT tech has said I am using a lot of the bandwidth. Roughly 50gb of data per month. Is there a way to reduce this? Disabling the camera or closing the app maybe? x1 carbon combo.
Couldn’t you just disconnect the camera to check the data over a typical time period? That might be a good starting point.
Hi Olbabybora,
Do you need the cloud service ?
I print on Lan only mode and my ocra slicer is also not connected to the cloud system but I do not use the phone app or the remote Bambu lab camera wish it would work in lan only mode but I have another camera I can use when I need remote monitoring
I guess start by turning off the camera it should cut way back on data usage by stopping the video stream
Hey guys. Thanks for your replies. I do need the cloud service as I start prints from home on weekends as my machine is at work.
By the looks of it it’s the camera. As soon as I start streaming the camera boom I shoot to the top of the usage list.
Now I just start the print and close bambu studio. Seems to be working fine.
Thanks again!
Did you try and turn off the camera in Studio? The switch is on the page that has the print key.
I have 3 printers, 2 at home and one in my office, I cannot connect the office one to the WiFi at the office so have been using a hotspot from a mobile phone, this has been fine for months, using less than the 10Gb I get per month but this month I have used over 80Gb of data despite only printing 4-5 small items. I can’t imagine that the printer has been chewing through the data when it is not in use but that seems to be the case. I did raise a Support Ticket but this was on the 8th of Feb so during the Chinese New Year and here I am 18 days later with no response from Bambu.
@tomaitch it was having the camera on. I use mine all day everyday and leave Bambu studio open with camera off and it uses less than 1GB/week
