Any chances your models were about Copyrighted Materials? I see you are using a pokemon as a Profile Picture and i heard that Nintendo is giving a strong war to IP violations. Just something to keep an eye out going forward.
Thank’s for your answer. I made some cookies cutter base on the shape of the pokemon, but it’s not a copyright infringment because are a model made by me.
Also the reported and remove other model like a window or a dice, and i’m pretty sure that there aren’t a copyright on a windows
Hope the team at the very least give you an explanation… 1 year ban is kinda huge. Only reason i could see them not giving an explanation is them thinking you are a bad actor that could use the explanation to game their “anti cheat” systems…
They use a “default” message for both, ban and appeal. The same message already founded here in the forum for other ban
That is not how copyright and trademarks work. You absolutely infringed if you made something using pokemon. You would be infringing even by simply using the name.
nope, cos i edited the image (not a lot, but edited).
Bye the way, if this was the reason, why they reported my windows, or the tooth paste squeezer?
also, if they use this rule, 90% of the model are illegal
Yes, even if you made edits it could be infringing, especially if “not a lot” was changed.
ok, but if was this the problem, they should tell me at least this…
From them three, two images both not prints. also 3rd does not look printable. Im surprised these have up votes and downloads.
wtf? All my file have image of they printed.
The second one have a render for the preview, but if you open it you can find real image of the file. The other 2 are real photo not rendering
I’m not sure why some of the other community members are responding to your topic in such a hostile way, to be honest. The title of your post might come across as naive, which could be why your concern isn’t taken seriously.
Many of us who have dealt with customer support for bans or takedowns know that their responses typically lack useful details about the reasons behind their actions. It’s clear that logging in from another IP is not the cause; it’s undoubtedly related to the takedown of all models for a specific reason. Unfortunately, we don’t know the reason and have no way to investigate further.
From my experience reporting severe violations (not involving your models), I know it can be challenging to get models taken down, even with clear evidence. So, either you are extraordinarily unlucky, unaware of certain rules, or withholding information. Given the limited information we have, we can’t draw any definite conclusions. However, we’ve often seen new members claim unjustified bans, only to later uncover valid reasons for those bans after further investigation. This likely explains the community’s skepticism in such cases.
Often, it’s not as black and white as you make it out to be. If it is considered ‘fan art’ it is not infringing. Whether a cookie cutter can be considered legitimate fan art in this case can only be determined by a court if there is any doubt. However, with the sheer volume of content related to Nintendo’s IP, it would be quite a coincidence if only he were affected. Makerworld would likely suspend all such content at once to protect themselves, similar to what they did with Lego.
Im just pointing out what i see…and what might be reason… maybe bambulba flick through previews…
and 3rd picture to me does not look like a print if it. maybe bad picture .
thank you for your really polite answer
for the 3rd picture you mean the house?
I Can’t link you the file, but is the windows, and the picture offcourse is of the windows in a house
At first glance it is impossible to tell these things. Most likely why reported/banned.
did you find this dice on etsy? so they stole it to me, because I made it from zero… really i made the d20, add all the number and in the end the bee (I made also the other dice but i don’t have print it yet so I don’t upload the model)
You are right, i don’t googled for it, a friend of mine play a bee character on dnd and he asked me for the dice and I did it. By the way, is not the way the copyright work. You cannot deposit a generic logo and avoid everyone to do the same thing. It’s different if you make a dice (example) with the logo of a famous brand, but I used a generic bee that i found on the web and put on a dice. You cannot have copyright on a generic thing like “a dice with a bee on the 20 face”, or in the world you cannot do anything.
But if the banned me for this, I wanna know it.
But is not a remix because it’s not a remix of a model. If you made a model of a tesla cyber truck (from zero), you should link the tesla site because is a remix?
But i don’t copied it, by the way, i don’t have any problem to mark the model as a remix (i did for some other, because are true remix) but they bannned everithing.
That’s true. In my new profile (because I must create a new one to can use my printer), If I never upload something again here, I’ll write that is a remix, also if is only a brick
Are these 3 models the only ones that were reported of the 23 you uploaded? If not can you show pictures of all the models that were “Reported and taken down”?
I would also expect that the Pokemon stuff is the main reason. The whole category of “FanArt” is super risky, grey area and usually doesn’t go well as soon as it gets too much attraction or a company is going after it. Same with Lego or others big brands. The design of the figures is theirs, even when you “re-sketch” them. Same goes for the Trademark when you use its names. You basically make use of the popularity that they’ve build up over the years with their marketing budget.
If you want to be safe create your own figures / characters that are not based on existing ones in movies or similar. AI can help with such these days.
