BBL PLA Basic gradient filament

I recently printed out thin panels, and depending on how I oriented the model on the print surface the color gradient from the PLA was significantly different.

In the first print (on the left of the pic), I printed them one after the other from the front towards the back of the printer.

The second print (on the right of the pic), they were diagonal 45° on the build plate and you can see from the attached picture the effect of the gradient was significantly different between these two prints.

  • same printer
  • Same filament
  • same model

Has anyone else experienced this?
Can anyone explain it?

The whole point of the filament is that the color changes along the length of it so obviously where the changes appear on the print will depend on your pattern/settings and how much filament is used for each area.

I find it difficult to believe that the orientation of the design would have the pictured impact.
