Bed Adhesion? But Not What You Think!

So I tried to duckduckgo this in tons of iterations, but every time the word ‘adhesion’ comes near ‘build plate’ all the results are going to perpetually be about prints.

What I need though is an adhesive and label that will permanently adhere to textured or smooth PEI and be waterproof for plate washing. Why? For an add-on QR code for a 3rd party plate! But I don’t wan’t it to just be a janky sticker that a regularly have to reapply, I want to attempt to make it as professional looking as possible!

Or you can remove the start G-code lines, which checks the plate at the beginning of each print, but make sure you are using the correct plate.

No that defeats my goal, I want to make a professional looking marking. I’m not after this to be the most practical solution :sweat_smile:

If I had it, I think I’d be trying a laser engraver, not sure if that would work though…

I tried stickers, but they did not stick to PEI.
I tried paint, but hard to do on textured plate.
I think laser engraving might work.
