Bed Levelling betweens Prints

I’m new to 3D Printing and dropped straight into the the X1C with AMS. Loving it so far.

I have a question on Bed Levelling, Do I need to run this process between prints? I know I’m removing the plate after prints. but will that effect the levelling to have to complete the process each time?

Generally you do not need to do this. The times it may warrant it is if you change magnetic build plates that are significantly different in thickness. There is always the possibility that a thicker plate may not be uniform.

I initially had the bed levelling box checked for every print. It was the default, and I did pay for that Automatic Bed Levelling (ABL), might as well use it. Prints were great.

But that adds a lot to print time, so I then only ran the ABL for the first print after turning on the power. Prints were still great.

The status of the ABL checkbox is remembered between prints, and inevitably, I would forget to turn it back on for a new print session, and the prints were still great.

Now, I only use ABL if I change build plate types, or sometimes if I am printing a large model that covers most of the plate, when a failure would be costly in time and filament.

Thank. Yeah I was thinking the same. I use OrcaSlicer, so before I send print from PC and I can select at that point.

Thanks for feedback, and like you say does save on overall print time.

“A lot of printtime”?
What is 1 or 2 minutes (depending on probing points) on a printjob?
Average printtime is a lot of minutes. So, you won’t win a lot scipping ABL.
