I got BerryBros Creations, a Canadian print farm, to remove my design they were selling that they got from Maker World. Doing a research with about 15 products images and reverse image searches, all of their products were from Maker World. I don’t know if they have purchased a license for any of them, but they didn’t purchase one for my design. So you may want to see if your designs are being sold.

I am assuming this is a AI generated site for one thing. I am also going to assume that “Jon” is not really selling anything to anyone with this site. Not that it makes anyone feel better to see their hard work being stolen. I just am going to assume that no one really is going to someone’s random AI generated site and making purchases, unless maybe they are related to “Jon”.
Sorry to hear that, sadly it is very common to find things like this and always need to be aware of these situations. Amazon, Temu, and second hand apps tend to have many models they can’t sell.

I’ve gotta revise my comment - it’s probably not a bot network, since the user is posting a lot of personal info about themselves. I’ve deleted my original comment. It’s probably just someone who’s very, very foolish and committing a lot of IP infringements (Disney, Marvel, Nintendo) and plagiarism.
More than likely a ploy to make you leave him alone.
You can maybe use the same ploy with his web hosting service but if he’s been around the block he’s probably anonymous.
I would start by contacting the payment service provider, but in as professional a manner as possible.
After all, they earn a commission on every transaction and can therefore face legal action. They are usually very careful to avoid being implicated in fraud. Especially when you bring up the context of IP infringements very cautiously and in passing.
In my case it is called Wallapop, so please EVERYONE who reads this check if anyone is selling your models. Here it seems like people don’t have eyes to read what license it has.
Easy solution to this … DON’T put your ideas up onto sites where they can be stolen!!
Make sure your (Bambu) printer is running on YOUR network only … NOT connected to theirs!!
People these days are only too willing to hand over their own ‘private’ and ‘confidential’ information .. and then wonder why it blows up in their face. STOP providing information to unknown people that you DON’T want known.
Even better still, never create anything. Don’t even buy a printer. If you never print anything no one can steal from you.
I don’t think it is fair to assume that Bambu stole the files, and then gave them to some random guy from Ontario. However, if you do think that your printer is stealing data, why would you buy it in the first place?

I for one am thankful that there are those who are willing to share their work at no cost to me. I am sure you already could create 3D models before you bought your first printer, but I for one could not. I would not have been able to get into the hobby of design if it was not for the spark of creativity and joy that I had from downloading and printing other peoples models in the beginning. Even now, as I try to make my own models, I can only thank those who have provided tutorials and those who have provided helpful answers on forums like this one. Without those generous people I would not be here today. It is a shame that their generosity is often met with contempt from thieves. It is more a shame that a fellow designer has only contempt for those that share.
To be fair, you’re not really contributing to the community. It’s a bit like talking about swimming when you’ve never even been near water.
If everyone shared your opinion, MakerWorld would be just as empty as your profile. In other words, the exact opposite of a community - an “emptymunity” so to speak.
The site just added a lot more models and doing a reverse image search, I found most of them are from Maker World.
MakerWorld has a vested interest in protecting its community from bad actors who treat the free model hub as a free commercial catalog.
I asked Maker World to look into the site. Maker World can’t do anything unless the ip owner complains. You think Maker World would have a vested interested in making sure models on their site are not being stolen. I guess not.
Intellectual property law can be tricky, and MakerWorld isn’t wrong about that. You really do need at least one designer who can submit an application in a way that’s legally valid.
I wouldn’t go so far as to say they have no interest at all, but companies tend to prioritize legal certainty above everything else. With a bit of luck, the topic might catch the attention of a designer who’s willing to take it on.
I’ve written about this before in this topic, but was asked friendly to remove the details because company‑specific information. So I’ll keep things general. Since this is a legitimate, registered company in Canada, designers always have the option to consult a lawyer themselves.
I know how to fix this.
When files/IP are uploaded to Makerworld they become property of Makerworld, and MW can then defend the IP against pirates.
This is an excellent idea. What could possibly go wrong?
