Best Buy (Insignia) Filament On Sunlu V3 spool

Hey all, I just purchased a roll of Best Buy Insignia filament with a cardboard spool. I attempted to transfer this to a Sunlu V3 spool, but the inner diameter of the cardboard Insignia spool is to large to fit the outer diameter of the Sunlu V3 spool. The outer diameter of the Sunlu V3 is roughly 80.7mm and the inner diameter of the Insignia cardboard spool is roughly 89-90mm. Needless to say, I have a partially disassembled cardboard spool that I can not transfer because I can not find the proper adapter. Does anyone know of an adapter for these spools? Thanks!

Just respool it, either manually or mechanically. Will take you a while to get it done, but it will allow you to use the filament. Or, you might want to print a PLA add-on for your cardboard filament holder to be able to use it with your AMS….Or simply use your external filament holder, on the back of your printer, to print… which is, as you can discover for yourself, the easiest and fastest way to solve your problem .

I’ve never respooled anything so this would be a new journey for me. Would I need a “blank” center hub from an empty spool to do this?

I would not be able to use the side spool, as I have already taken off one side of the cardboard spool. I either have to respool, or find an adapter.

Then, it’s either respooling (see existing options), or transferring (see available models) your filament.
