Hey folks, happy German H2S owner here!
I’ve had it for ~2-3 months now with ~400hrs of printing time on it. I’m super happy with the printer, but I really wish I would have just spent a bit more and went with the H2D.
So I’m wondering, what’s the most financially sensible method for upgrading? Just sell one on ebay, fb marketplace, etc. and buy the other? Are there any other options?

Purchase the H2C upgrade kit
Does that exist yet? I only saw mention of the H2S → Laser upgrade kit
EDIT: Here’s the page. Looks like launch is in Jan 2026 for ~1000 EUR. I might honestly do that…
The H2S → H2C upgrade path seems a lot more involved than the H2D → H2C one, but definitely doable!
I’d also pay like an extra 100 EUR to get the H2D side panel with a window in it for my H2S (/ future H2C) haha. That doesn’t seem to be included in the Vortek upgrade kit 
It’s not but not really necessary, you could think about it at a later time if you feel you need it. If it is to look at your print from the side, the vortek system will hide most of it anyway.
The upgrade is actually a good deal for H2S owners, H2D owners who will upgrade will pay in total a huge price to have the exact same machine.
The upgrade from H2S or from H2D is very similar and you will end up with a better machine for lot less than selling your H2S at a loss and purchasing a brand new H2D.
Still, you will loose a lot of X travel coming from H2S, you need to take it into consideration if you need the space. You currently can print 340mm wide with the one nozzle of H2S, this will be reduced to 325mm on H2D but only 305mm with the right nozzle of H2C due to the width of the vortek system (325mm printing with the left nozzle)
Oh good point, didn’t think that the vortek system will cover any nice view in there from the right side.
Great point about the upgrade making more financial sense for H2S owners. I’m still very much leaning toward buying it, side window or not haha.
My H2S is great, but I’ve run into a few cases of wanting to do multi-material prints already and regret not just going for the H2D originally.
Does anyone know if you can already purchase the Vortek upgrade kit for the H2S? I know it won’t be installable/activatable on the H2S until a firmware update is released ~Jan 26.
EDIT: Nevermind, looks like purchases for the H2S upgrade kit are also gated until Jan 26. You can set a notification already though!
I think Bambu should make H2S → H2D upgrades kit (yes i am 3 months in my H2S purchase and starting to regret not getting H2D from the get go)
Don’t get me wrong H2S is great and it is good that they make H2C upgrade kit
But i still want to use same build plate i already have and i can’t really justify 900 to get a smaller build volume just to get a dual nozzle
I am not interested in printing 7 color model
I have 200$+ worth of H2S build plate and would love to keep it
I am more interested in printing technical materials with support material but not having to buy an entire new build plate set and since right nozzle is the one losing print area and it the only nozzle capable of tpu and some stiff material
I get why bambu does not have a H2S to H2D upgrade kit but it would be nice of them to come out with that
And if we were to look at it from sustainability point Bambu can do a buy back program where anyone who upgraded their H2D to H2C can send their old parts to get some reimbursement then bambu would refurbish those part then they can sell it as H2D upgrade kit

Ooo I really like this idea.
They clearly are able to do this (the H2D print head is a part of the H2S → H2C upgrade kit).
They should just sell that part on its own, I would buy that in a heartbeat too!

The upgrade cost is a good chunk of a H2D/H2C.
Absolutely in the same boat. Happy 1 month owner of a H2S. At the time it seemed to be the newest machine (November) and I didn’t think i would really need the dual nozzle. Here I am, 250 print hours later - I don’t need the laser. I don’t need the cutter. But boy I wish I had a second nozzle. This last print - 1003 fillament changes. Let’s not even talk about the amount of flush/waste
I would consider the upgrade to the H2C. But damn; build plate lost. Cutting plate lost, I mean you basically loose everything that’s related to your bed. That’s such a waste. I could probably live with the reduced build space.
Let’s see how it pans out once some people give it a try. However I would pay 1000€ to convert to a h2d over an h2c
The cutting plate is the size of the H2C bed as is the vision encoder plate. They were designed to fit the H2C
I have the H2S and H2C now after deliberating on what to do and so glad I did.
Filament waste is a thing of the past now as I keep the H2S for single colour prints and H2C for multi colour / material prints. I know its not always an option due to cost/space limitations but I would recommend it.

My advice would be to wait and watch the video guide, then make a decision on whether an upgrade is the right path for you ie, whether it’s something you feel you can do…….
