Best matte pla

Hey guys so im having fun and games with matte play , im doing a bunch of lego storm troopers for friends and want to try and get costs down but im having very little luck with other brands of matte pla , bambu is on point but sunlu jams the ams , kingroo just doesnt print nicely at all think i used half the role trying to calibrate it, im about to try jayo next but can anyone else recommend a brand of matte pla that pritns well at a reasonable price.

Thanks

I use Elegoo since months … and “Deeplee” is the exact same with another brand name.

I print everything without a specific color with this stuff. Today my Amazon-Order arrived, 4x White PLA Matte for EUR 38,- and 4x Black PLA Matte for the same price. Cardboard spools, but you can put them on the Bambu-Spools

EUR 9,50 per kg for a really nice Matte PLA is imho unbeatable

Cool thanks , the elgoo is at £15 atm but the deeplee is still under 10 so il give that a crack.

I have both - and the spools (and filament) is identical. Just the Name Elegoo is different  Rest of the design is also identical. I swear that is exactly the same stuff

Wouldnt be suprised if they did come from the same place

Wow first time I feel lucky, I pay 10EUR for bambu filament in Canada.

Yeah dont have much choices over here and its all around the same price

9,50 per Role is - for me here in the EU - still the better deal. I do have 100 Bambulab Roles, special colors, specials types, …

But my Standard for EVERYTHING is the cheapo Deeplee/Elegoo, and im very satisfied with the quality of this stuff. Especially for the amount of roles I use.

All my Gridfinity and such stuff is printed with that PLA Matte.

Do you get any colour variation with duplee and elgoo , i tried out kingroon and there regular pla (not matte)was great , printed on bambu settings no tweeking needed but i started to run out so i ordered another roll same supplier , but when it arrived it was visably a dofferent tone and when printed it was a little lighter.

I just use Black and White - an no.

This is totally off topic, but I honestly thought I was the only one hoarding in the EU. Glad to know I am not alone :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Bambu just posted 8EUR per roll when you buy 10 rolls in Canada. Life is good!

:person_shrugging: It is, what it is … 11,99 is still more than 9,50. And Deeplee is always somewhere available for that price, minimum of 4 Rolls vs. 10 Rolls is also a point

But yes, it’s great that Bambulab is somehow comparable too

8EUR for a spool in Canada sounds rough. Funny enough, earlier this year Germany’s former foreign minister Sigmar Gabriel even said Canada should be invited into the EU: “They are more European than some European member states anyway.” (The Guardian) With filament prices like that, maybe Canada really should join us

Google Kanzuk there is a major movement on this atm.

I primarily use Bambu PLA Matte but I’ve also had good luck with the options from Polymaker. Their ‘muted’ colors in matte PLA are particularly nice (in my opinion): https://us.polymaker.com/products/panchroma-matte?variant=43631458648121

Ah man best they do here is £11.99 if ylu buy 6 rolls

I like to use PolyTerra which is now called Panchroma. It seems to be about the same as Bambu matte PLA, except with twice as many colors. I usually wait for the sales and stock up.

Yup, Deeplee is Elegoo.

That PLA matte can be stronger than PLA seems paradoxical, maybe some kind of nucleation effect from the stuff they put in it to make it matte.

Matte is more flexible making it less likely to snap when under pressure compared to regular PLA.
