Thanks. I will check it out.
May be a little late, but this is the best option. AMS lite goes to the standard four tubes and the external spool goes to the center tube. Works great.
I printed this AMS Eight-Way Manifold by Cooper - MakerWorld which is an 8-way manifold that feed into the 4 input AMS lite hub on the top of the hot end. I did need to use a tie-wrap to keep it tightly in place, but it seems to work well. I currently have it set up with the middle inputs being the tubes from the AMS lite, the two on the right being a top spool and the original back spool, and one on the left coming from a dryer. To use an external spool, I just make sure that the AMS feeds are backed out a bit more and then feed the filament from one of the external sources. I haven’t had any trouble with PFTE tubes coming loose.
Never too late. Looks like another great option. Thanks for posting the link.
Wow! 8 into one. What could go wrong? Interesting nonetheless so I will take a look at it. Thanks for posting.
nice, I hope anycubics new printers and ams units force bambu into letting you use two ams lite with 8 port adapter like this since they proved it can be done with their printers.
These are what I used and they are fantastic.
161680-five port filament feed
667636-filament hub helper (use the “5 hole hub helper” green one)
As far as combining AMS and the external spool on the same print, I haven’t tried that yet. However I no longer have to swap out the ptfe tubing when I want to use the external spool.
@B1G5L1M Welcome to the community. And thanks for posting that. I already had the first item downloaded but not the second one. Looks like a good setup.
Yeah, it’s a great setup and no more swapping tubes. Initially I was going to use a y-splitter for the external spool and tap in to one of the AMS tubes but then I found this option. I did have to purchase a roll of ptfe tubing from amazon though because the one that comes with the printer was too short. Unfortunately I’m not able to post pictures.
Try to drag and drop the image into the post. It may work.
