Best start with using 2 AMS units?

I have read in the past about using 2 AMS units with the X1C and having them go out of sync etc, so I need to ask this question. I have 2 AMS units connected to my X1C but haven’t loaded any filament yet but want to get started today. Should I assume that the AMS unit connected directly to the printer will be numbers 1-4 and the second AMS unit that is daisy chained be numbers 5-8?
Thanks

Only if you connect the second unit while the first unit is connected. If not, it can be, that both get reassigned and the new ist unit 1 and the old unit 2. This happened to me.

So you plug in the 2nd unit while it’s powered on? Just making sure before I mess something up.

No.

The order is determined by the order you initially plug them in.

Plug the one you want to be A into the printer first, wait till it is recognized, then plug B into A.

Ok, that makes sense. Thanks for clearing that up. :white_check_mark:

Yes, it’s documented in the Bambu Lab wiki.

Thanks, I guess I should have looked there first.
