Best way to communicate with Bambu Support regarding removed models?

New to forum (and posting designs)… I have had two models removed from the Makerworld Exclusive program. Lost about 2500 points in the process. My fault, I realize… Misunderstanding as to what qualifies as original vs remix.

I have created some characters using multiple original pieces designed by myself, but fitting on Dummy 13 frame. After posting the first model I figured it was ok. Since it was up for over a month without issue, so I posted two more. I have seen other dummy 13 models and parts in exclusive so I made a wrong assumption. Now two removed with all points.

As I read through the forums I noticed designers with similar issues that were reimbursed points (reduced to non-exlcusive) and able to have the models reinstated but not in the exclusive program.

I created a support ticket but have only received two autogenerated responses in 4 days… neither of which obviously touch on my questions.

Is it better to communicate with Bambu through forums than support ticket? Also… If I posted just the unique parts as opposed to including the necessary Dummy 13 parts, is this a better option?

Thank you!

They don’t really actively search MW for violations so what this means is someone reported your models and the other people haven’t been reported.

The users here are users just like you… if you want to communicate with Bambu support tickets are really the only way.

Here’s the exclusive guidelines:

Here’s a sample of what they are looking for in the program:

Those characters are amazing

I am not sure about the best way to get the points reimbursed, but more importantly, did you add any original dummy 13 files to your listing or was it just the additional parts? And did you fully design those parts from scratch? Because if so, what was the basis of removal? If it is only additional parts it is just like a poop bucket for a 3D printer or a cup holder for a 1923 VW jetta?

That is how I had always done my Lucky 13 Toys “remixes”. I didn’t like uploading the frame because I didn’t change anything about it. It felt wrong uploading another user’s files.

But, anyway, posting just your unique pieces is definitely not the answer for no other reason than users will complain that there are parts missing. It doesn’t matter how big, bold or underlined the text in your description is. People will take one look at your photos, assume everything is included, and then you have to deal with a bunch of 1 star reviews. Uploading just your unique pieces is a headache, trust me.

EDIT: Love those characters though, awesome job!

Thank you!

I designed all the character parts myself. (And I have more almost ready to post… though hesitating now). But I did include the necessary dummy 13 parts to complete the model and gave attribution.

Both responses I got from Support just said “incorrect upload type”. I just assumed this meant it should be labeled remix and not original. But it doesn’t give me the option to go in and even change the model to remix. They just say “taken down”. I could upload again… But Peely (yellow banana) had 1K downloads and I think 500 prints. This gives some credibility. As well as countless reviews and my responses in helping with assembly.

Thank you for the compliment! I’m a dentist… obviously not a professional designer but work with 3D printing and designing in my field as well.

And yes I guess it’s tricky. The reason I thought it was a fun way to design characters is because the Dummy 13 model is not only great but allows users to use freely with attribution. So I assumed including the parts was ok.

I wanted to keep designing these character models as they’ve been pretty well received (for an amateur like me) and fun to make for my kid. But I’m beginning to think it’s not worth it.

I don’t have any reports noted on my account?

Yeah I figured the Support ticket was the way to go, but I don’t ever seem to get an actual response. Maybe I just have to keep replying to the auto responses? I have seen Bambu Moderator responses in the forum so didn’t know if this was a way to reach someone… but you’re probably right… they clearly can’t respond to everyone in the forums.

Appreciate you taking the time to respond.

Not uploading them as exclusive is not the same as not worth it

Most of my models are non exclusive and I am still going strong. And especially when designing stuff for dummy 13 it is much more in the spirit of the original design and designer to upload your files as cc as well! I have also not seen much difference in traction between my exclusive and non exclusive models and the exclusive ones always seem more at the risk of losing points.

Yeah, just didn’t know if the non-exclusive ones would get pulled down at some point too with no ability to actually get authentic responses from support. But if that’s unlikely, then continuing in that fashion may be the answer.

That said, I see a definite difference in promotion for exclusive vs non. The full Agent Peely model I made (non-exclusive) was never seen in the Trending models. Yet his simple little Bananaxe accessory (exclusive) with less downloads and posted at the same exact time showed up.

Regardless… it seems remix/non-exclusive is the correct way to post. Just would appreciate the ability to have the removed ones reposted and partial point reimbursement. Oh well!

Thank you for the insight!

The only thing that shows up under that tab are if someone claims you’ve violated their IP. In that case you’ll have a chance to respond to the claim. People can do that by clicking “IP Report”. If someone clicks the three dot menu and selects report there they don’t have the be involved. If someone reports it that way you’ll get an email the model was removed and a very vague reason, but you won’t see who reported it and it won’t show up anywhere on your account.

About the ticket, I’m not sure how many people they have responding to tickets on MW but I know on the tech support and sales side they are slammed right now with the new printer release. Just don’t give up.

I’m slowly removing mine from exclusive as each one hits the 90 day mark. I don’t get a lot of downloads and I don’t want to chance the small amount of points I do get lol.

Ahhh… this makes sense. Really appreciate the thoughtful responses. Thank you. Live and Learn!
