Been going mental. I’m out of town. Wife is at home.
All three P1S have been going mental since new beta firmware update last night. I’m not only having adhesion issues, but my prints have been failing mid print.
The one that just failed at 1hr 46min left was a 14 hr print. Had 3 prints fail on 2 separate machines. This is bananas.
Reverting three of the five and will update after I get home tomorrow.
Oddly, On my P1P, I printed all day yesterday with zero issues. I’ve printed anywhere from 30-minute to 5-hour prints with no problems. I am also on 1.6.20.20 Beta. I restarted my printer and performed a calibration, as I always do after firmware updates. I also cleaned my bed with IPA and gave it a fresh light coating of hair spray.
Insteresting, hair spay is still used these days while textured pei plates are super popular and all.
I still use hair spray sometime, but to help with the cleaning. It feels like water flows more consistency across the pei plate surface after cleaning the hair spray away, especially the area that has the ghostly imprint of the previous prints
Agreed, I only use the hairspray as a safety when I am using the Bambu Smooth PEI plate, and that is only when I need a piece to print with a smooth face, or when I am printing an extremely tall item like a surfboard. Heck, I would rather use spray and a few loops of brim versus taking a chance a piece comes loose.
Many times, Settings → General → Restore Factory Settings. will correct strange problems after a firmware update, even problems that did not appear immediately.
It might be best to use beta firmware on only one machine until you are confident it is stable.
