Anyone know if beta testing is a thing? I’d love to test out any of the new features from Prusa Slicer 6 that might be added (measuring tool) when it comes out of Alpha.
You can go to the GitHub: GitHub - bambulab/BambuStudio: PC Software for BambuLab's 3D printers
That is where it would be posted if any.
You could also install the SoftFever fork of Bambu Studio, which adds in features from PrusaSlicer that Bambu has not exposed (Linear Advance, for example.) There are also slicer changes he has included. It would not astonish me if, after the new PS releases, SoftFever incorporates some of those changes.
+1 I was hesitant to jump on the SoftFever bandwagon, only using it for calibration, but it is currently all I use now, no more BS. I really hope SF adds more calibration generators like temperature, retraction, and cooling towers, bundle in the common calibration tests for setting up new filaments.
Indeed. It appears that they (BL) are changing, working on the code actively. So if someone wants to compile new versions, please advise (I am to silly for that)
Yes. I have been bouncing back and force between the two. I like the calibration for flow with SoftFever on the P1P.
You can downloads SoftFever builds for even unreleased versions if you’re feeling brave: Actions · SoftFever/BambuStudio-SoftFever · GitHub
I don’t know if they’re missing any commits from upstream, but I doubt they are much behind in any case.
Although, when I got my printer about a month ago, the version on bambulab.com was ahead of what was on their github releases, but I think it took at most few hours for them to push the new version in there and by the time I got to softfever they were based on this new version as well.
