Big difference in download stats, why?

Noticed on one of my models that the download stats differ by a lot between the model and the Profile stats.
Model: Downloads 2.6k & Prints 2.2k (Same on analytics page)
Profile: Downloads 3.9k & Prints 2.2k (Analytics page = 3892 Downloads & 2199 Prints)
There is only one profile.
Does this mean BL considers 1/3 of all downloads to be fake of some kind? Or repeat downloads from same users?

Anyone who has some insight on why the figures can differ this much or can share any other thoughts on this?

Not really a complaint, just trying to understand.

I checked it on my end, and it always fits perfectly for my stuff. Are you sure you selected the same time frame for both “Model” and “Profile”? It’s best to select “All” for both analyses.

Of course, it’s hard to tell without screenshots. Maybe you should provide a little more information, including which model it is.

Maybe other things happened that you didn’t even notice. Check your system messages to see if you’ve received any notifications regarding your model.

My numbers are from the model page itself. Then double checked against the analytics page.
What I’m wondering is how can I have 2.6k model downloads but 3.9k profile downloads?
It is one model with one profile.
If needed I can add screen shots, but getting “maintenance error” on Makerworld right now :person_facepalming:
The images won’t give you any further info IMO.

Without any more information than “trust me, bro,” none of us can figure this out. Not because we don’t believe you, but because we basically need to know what’s going on.

  • What’s the time frame?
  • Were there any discrepancies with that model at any point?
  • Did you receive any messages from the system regarding the model?
  • Did someone sneak a print profile into your 3D model and then delete it again without you noticing?
  • Was your model flagged?
  • If it was part of the exclusive program and then was removed?

The numbers should not differ from one another. Either there’s a system error, or you’ve overlooked something. I have no idea why you don’t feel like posting at least the link to the model in question - that’s really strange.

If you just want to do a survey to see if this has happened to others:

  • Well, as I said, in my case: No, not with any model.

Edit: By the way, Bambu is doing some maintenance on the website today. Check back later - maybe the issue will have resolved itself by then.

Stats for the model:

Stats for the Profile:

Nothing fishy with my models. I only wrote about one design, but it is the same pattern on several of my designs.
No flagged designs, no warnings, nothing removed and added back, no messages from staff nor any automated messages. No added and removed profiles. If that would be the case, the numbers should be the other way around. I have higher profile stats than model stats.

I know, that is what I meant with the “maintenance error”. And no, it is not related to anything done today. Been like this for months and getting worse as the difference gets bigger by the day.

I have no idea if this is the issue but pretty sure you can select downloading stl files or the 3mf when you start a download.

It could be that’s the distinction? Profile downloads are straightforward - it’s the profile. The model downloads could be people who just want the parts but maybe they don’t use profiles?

Others probably know better.

How can you get a higher number on the profile? The mode is included. Every time you download the profile, you get the model as well. It would make more sense if I had higher stats on the models. Or is it me not understanding how a simple download works? If it is, then I yield …

It might help if you shared a link to your MW profile. You don’t have to, of course, but it would be useful. Because when you click on your name on MakerWorld, this is what shows up…

I think a profile is just a superset and Bambu encourages uploading profiles to give the exclusively Handy and those who don’t know how to configure a print in Studio things to print. Profiles earn a bonus over models which if this is right is maybe why Bambu counts both.

Profiles are supposed to be almost turnkey prints.

There are people here who aren’t fans of poorly designed profiles.

The difference in rewards is also why some lay in wait for popular models and then post their own profiles to vampire off rewards.

I’ll take a guess here: something feels a bit off… I just can’t quite put my finger on it yet. There’s definitely a piece of the puzzle missing.

I also find it odd that the thread starter didn’t link to the model. It feels like there’s more to the story. Even after asking a second time, still no link? So I’ll repeat what I said in my first comment.

Disclaimer: I’m not suggesting the original poster is being anything but genuine - it just feels like a small piece of the puzzle might still be missing.

Those are not my accounts on Makerworld. I don’t use the same name there. And as they don’ have any models either they can’t be the account I’m talking about.

I just don’t want the publicity or the traffic from here. I’m not trying to score some visits or downloads etc. I was going to send the link to you in private, but you don’t accept messages.

What other piece of information do you think you can get other than the stats?
The models have one profile. The stats are wonky as posted earlier. Lots of likes and collects.

That wasn’t supposed to be the case - private messages are open again. I forgot to change that setting while I was on vacation. Thanks for pointing that out to me. :+1:

I took a look at the profile and completely understand now the request not to share the link.

In short: I can confirm on my end that this is indeed the case.

We’re currently looking into a few possible causes that I’ve noticed.
