Use glue no issues you wont have issues

Just tried my first prints with Bambu’s PA6-GF on the glacier and after applying as many tips as I’ve found out the forum… my part refuses to adhere to the plate. Generic glue stick doesn’t do the trick, I guess it’s time for a more specialized adhesive :frowning: Any brand recommendations or other advice?

I prefer my glacier plates. The texture pei plate and supertack plate feel inferior to it.

Bambu’s supertack seems stickier but the build plate is too thin, the coating is too fragile and I have to always remember to switch over to the lower temp plate print setting or I could damage it.

Supertack is so thin and flimsy feeling that I have trouble placing it back on the printer because the back end will flex too easily when I’m trying to guide it into the groove on my A1.

Try a brim. The skirt doesnt do anything

@StreetSports I’d say the brim made a difference here  solid advice, thanks so much for the quick and concise reply.

What were your PLA settings?
I’ve found glacier to offer pretty good adhesion for PLA, better than smooth PEI, enough grip that it won’t pop off cooled without a scraper or a heavy handed bend.
For PLAs, I mostly only print bambu CF / bambu Wood, 230(1st layer)/65/55 for CF, 240(1st layer)/60/55 for wood.

Magigoo PA glue works pretty good

My second advise is to print in the center of the print bed. Avoid the edge usually a cooler area.

I have to say, after printing PA6-GF all weekend, I have really changed my mind about the glacier. Adding brims and mouse ears has eliminated all warping and no adhesive is necessary. I’m still not very impressed with ASA adhesion, but for Nylon, it’s a fantastic plate.

Might also add that ahesion of PC is so so, while printing dessicant holder for AMS HT it warped on almost all of the the length of the model. switched to smooth pei + glue.

EDIT: i’m talking about adhesion of PC on glacier

I can vouch that It works great as a build plate when printing PPS. It adhere’s well at temperature (120C), auto releases when cooled (< 30C), and it imparts a really nice texture onto the bottom of the printed object.

I think what muddies the waters is when manufacturers claim their build plates are good for printing filaments they really aren’t suited for just because they think it will help sell more of their build plates.
