So yesterday I received the birds eye camera and installed it, having the “normal” H2D instead of the laser version I can’t calibrate the camera. When will we get the possibility of calibrating with the cutter instead of the Laser module Bambu?
Also, would love to see the possibility of looking at a print with the birds eye camera.

Not yet but given that many have purchased the BE camera along with the cutting kit, I guess bambu will try to expedite it. @SupportAssistant and support via chat also respond a firmware is coming so it should not take long. Cutting kit works without the BE camera though
Is there any update on when the birds eye camera can be used on non laser H2Ds? I’m planning to buy the cutting upgrade kit, but I’m not sure if I should order the camera as well!

Bambu Lab is keeping us end users in suspense. For months they’ve promised it would be included in a firmware update. I was really excited on November 5th, 2025, but this camera wasn’t included. Could Bambu Lab please be so kind as to consider us end users? Without this Birds Eye Camera, it’s difficult to position the camera. After installing the camera, editing is impossible. In the forum, users mainly help other users. There are Bambulab employees here like @SupportAssistant or @BambuLab, but if you want something, open a support ticket. The forum is not the right place for that. If you are very lucky, one of the employees will sometimes respond – provided they are able to comment on the matter.

Is there any news about the firmware so that the Birds Eye Camera can also be used on “normal” H2Ds? My last information was from early December 2025. That’s what it said in the wiki. But the entry has since been removed. It’s a shame how Bambulab is handling this.
Bambu support keeps saying it’s going to be part of the next major firmware update to be released early 2026 whatever that means (up to end of March I suppose)
My H2C can’t calibrate because it complains I don’t have an emergency stop button, So I ordered one. Do you think it will let me “calibrate” then? Maybe that is the only thing it seems to care about.
Is it just me or does it seem Bambu didn’t fully consider this cutter/laser add-on thing fully before releasing it. First, this is a $2000+ printer, couldn’t they have included the birds-eye camera on every model? What does that cost them, maybe $15. I would think not that many people are upgrading to lasers. Not only the cost, but the fact that smoke and fumes aren’t the best for a 3D printer. For the price of an upgrade you could just buy a laser cutter. At least the cutter upgrade is only 70% the price of a Cricut.

If the red key isn’t installed, the printer won’t power on, so no, that isn’t the problem. I received the Emergency Stop button and installed it. Going along with Bambu Paranoidism, not ONLY do you need to plug in the Emergency Stop Button to the back of the printer, you have to install in under the side of the printer or it won’t work. OK back to Birds Eye Camera calibration. So I install the cutting blade, Then it told me I needed to Calibrate the Birds Eye Camera. OK. I clicked calibrate, and it FAILED because I haven’t installed the Laser Module, which I don’t have. So, NO GO until Bambu updates their firmware. But I do like the Emergency Stop button. Even without the laser, its not bad to have that since my power button is very hard to reach.
I ordered one a few days ago and I’m now waiting. I assuming it works fine as a remote Power button?
Yes it works fine. So you remove your red key and plug this in there. It has its own black key. I was stumped by this so maybe it will help you because it has no instructions and even the Bambu WiKi doesn’t say much. I plugged it in and couldn’t get the printer to turn on. The switch is a red button you push to activate it and it turn clockwise to reset it. What I didn’t realize is that it comes activated, to unactivate you turn it THEN it has to pop up. If it doesn’t pop up, your printer won’t turn on.
Oh, one more thing. The emergency stop ALSO has to be mounted on the right side of the printer just ahead of the center. There is an oval where it has to go. There is a magnet in the switch and a sensor in the printer that must meet. At least you don’t need two factor authentication to restart the printer, (Wouldn’t surprise me from what I have seen from Bambu.)
Really hoping for this as well – being able to use a plotter/cutter was a huge draw for me.
