BL Software proves itself a buggy piece of garbage to waste materials

Issue: standing part small surface to bed. NEEDS RAFT
create raft = Error bottom layer is empty= Software TOO STUPID TO KNOW IT RAISED THE PART!
remove raft no error can’t print because ZERO chance of adhesion to bed (wasted three layers to prove it)
Work around: open part in Blender create raft print part.

Having to use a third party program to create included functions of BL software is UNACCEPTABLE!
the software makes any layers touching supports look like garbage also TOO thin unless you manage to change the setting because it defaults back to factory numbers between projects.
The entire software on the cloud system is a monumental FAIL! so many settings default back to either factory or previous settings or do not include clones of the piece you spend ridiculous amounts of time setting up prints. this doesn’t even include the AMS issues where the software doesn’t follow the PREPARE settings for which spools to use. If you happen to miss it you’ll be printing things in other colors than those specifically set up in the prepare tab. Am I being harsh or MAD? No the printer has managed to Bugger more than 50% of the prints in one way or another because the software is such a monumental piece of trash. The volume of wasted materials is more than enough to justify the harsh review of this printers problems. IT’S WASTING MONEY! If you haven’t noticed the part on the print plate where the nozzle end sands itself is part of the plate not the decal so how long before we have to replace the plate itself? They didn’t send an extra yet to look at it the Plate part will have worn out before I have to replace the decal (built in obsolescence anyone?)

This is normal (to remove any filament from the nozzle before auto bed leveling) and won’t shorten the print plate’s life.

yes it will its already eating into the plate. was undulated and rough currently mirror smooth that is wear. Eventually it’ll eat through that part with the hardened steel tip.

EDIT: The plastic piece we have two spares of the tip slaps a few times is to clear off filament from the tip before leveling. the sanding happens AFTER its done the leveling so kind of defeats your premise

Here a picture just for you! this is part of the PLATE not the decal we don’t get these unless we replace the plate. Showing me the users manual doesn’t change that does it?

Thanks for the effort but I really didn’t need it, it’s the same here on my printer. That the exact spot where “before mesh bed leveling” nozzle cleaning is done.
Maybe you didn’t notice the process is more complex. Not only it rubs the nozzle against the steel plate, it also coolls it down to 140deg at the same time, which ensures the tip of the nozzle is (almost) perfectly flat.
I wish they paid as much attention to having flat heatbeds.

Since I’m posting pics I may as well include a few which will debunk the “Oh he must be a NOOB at printing”

1/3rd scale

42" work in progress. Multi piece/ large/ small/ flimsy/ rock solid etc
I’ve been working with 3D software for decades when I say BL’s studio is a monumental piece of ■■■■ it’s not because I’ve never worked with slicers or other programs far more complex than this!

Good for you. I wonder why you already don’t mass-produce your own printer better than any in the world (no offense).
Never mind, we don’t really need to discuss this way here. I agree with the fact BL’s printer is far from perfect, but to be honest, nozzle wiping area is literally the last thing in my concern.

I think noone said you are a noob, but your tone does not make it easy to actually want to help you.

The behavior with the plate is normal, and the steel plate will last for quite a while before the nozzle rubs through it. It surely will happen, but also it will surely happen one day in the far future. But it will also happen that other parts of your printer will wear out, like pulleys, bearing and rails. Its still a massive improvement over having to clean the nozzle by hand constantly.

If you have a problem with the cloud sync feature of the Bambu Studio, why don’t you simply disable the sync of the settings?

For the rafts, I never got any error with the rafts, neither the piece is floating for me nor I get an error that things float when removing rafts. It would help if you would prove an .stl though if you actually seek help and not just look to flame here.

Btw, you can simply save the settings you tuned, either as a global preset or inside the project, which is plenty of options to work with.
