Is it just me? I set the color for the object on the Prepare screen (after syncing the spools) then Slice it and go to print. If I just hit Send, it would be the wrong color (usually showing A1 spool)
so I change it to the right one. Why won’t it remember the spool number?
It is even worse when doing multiple color prints where I have no idea which color is being assigned in the Send dialog box. Please help me understand this.
It’s because you have to sync it with the printer. The printer remembers what you have loaded.
As I mentioned, I have synced the AMS with the printer as is shown in the upper left of my image. The 4 colors are correct there but not in the SEND screen
It shows you have Red filament loaded in A3 for the printer & Black in A2 in Bambu Studio. So, the way you have it now…your Black item will print in Red…unless you load Black filament into A2.
That is EXACTLY my point. I have selected the correct color in the model but it doesn’t hold when I go to print. How is that fixed?
You need to “re-sync” from the printer. This will load in what the printer AMS has in it. Don’t used the “sync”.

Can you show what comes up in your ‘device screen’.
After going in the device screen, then back to the prepare screen, can you try clicking on the drop down next to Bambu Studio (BS) slot 2 and checking that it shows the 4 AMS filaments in the drop down list, if so, re-select the AMS slot A2 black again into slot 2 in BS from the drop down, and then re-try printing to confirm that is still selects the wrong colour.
PS/ Personally I don’t worry about keeping my BS slots the same as the AMS slots, I usually use BS slot 1 for most single colour prints - and then just select the AMS colour I want into that slot.
So you could try changing slot 1 in BS to black from AMS slot A2 , then change both of your two objects to slot 1 - then retry printing to see if that makes any difference.
If both of these methods fail I would try swapping the filaments around in the AMS to see if that makes any difference.
