(This is actually Pen Plotting but there doesn’t seem to be a separate category)
When attempting my first complex multi-color marker plot I kept getting: “Make Stopped. Blade Z-axis homing failed” [0300-4052 xxxxxx]
This was immediately after changing markers to a new color (there were about 10 marker changes in this). It happened numerous times anywhere from the 3rd to the 8th marker change. Very frustrating.
Luckily I figured out that in Bambu Suite you can go back to your project, right click on any objects that did print, and choose “Disable”. This lets you essentially continue your print from the marker color that failed to detect.
Tried many times to see what was the issue (re-calibrated with the blade, etc.) I finally noticed that, after I would go to the home screen to try again, the main menu would indicate “No Blade / Pen”. That would change to “Pen” if I pulled out and re-seated the pen adapter. So I started to suspect it was a pen detection issue…
I cleaned the metal cylinder of the pen adapter with QD Electronic Cleaner, unseated and re-seated the entire cutting module base (although it was NOT loose). After that contact cleaning the issue has not re-appeared.
Maybe this will save someone some time! I’ll post back if it begins to happen again.
