Does anyone have any feedback or settings for printing TPU ?
I am getting a lot of blisters, with seams set to random and I have tried setting the “retraction to 2mm” because this works ok with Simplfy3D
Did you dry your TPU sufficient? TPU is highly hygroscopic.
Could also be the seam position if it is set to random.
I did set my seams on random, because before I had it set to default and it was this huge noticeable seam. I do have a dryer and my spool is definitely in that, just a note, my cheapo X1 sidewinder using Simplify3D prints this TPU flawlessly, it’s just soooooo slow, that’s the whole reason I bought the Bambu, hopefully I can tweak it to work correctly.
I am using Polymaker PolyFlex TPU90.
Thanks for the reply !
i have found that the X1 seems to be very sensitive to wet filiment… We print alot of TPU with no issues… when it is dry…
Would it be ok to ask for some settings that you guys use?
Thank you
Simplify3D and BambuSlicer are going to locate seams differently. It would be interesting to see where Simplify3D is putting them, but they are there somewhere; no printer I know can completely hide the seam on a smooth surface.
The latest version of Simplify3D has support for the X1. Have you tried that.
Alternately, you can try using seam-painting to put the seams where you want, where they won’t be noticed. Normally the slicer tries to locate them in a crevice or a sharp point, but on a round surface there isn’t any.
If all else fails, can you show us a similar print - all round surface - from your old setup?
sure…
this is using the Phaser3D Blue TPU.
flow ratio 1
Nozzle temp 240
textured PEI plate temp 40
Max Vol Speed 3.6
Aux fan 70%
no retraction
the speeds are listed from top down
50 first layer
105 FLI
100 OW
150 IW
250 SI
250 ISI
180
bride 50
gap 250
Start from there and slowly increase speed…
Some filiments call for retraction but this one doesnt… we get very minimal stringing if any
We go from the bambu slicer rec settings and tweak small amounts from there
I have a print at work that has just finshed… if i remember will take a pic
That would be great to see, thank you for those settings, its a great place to start !
I can find very few of these settings. My BambuStudio advanced settings, and even via search, has no “flow ratio”, no “nozzle temp”, no Max anything to do with speed, no Aux anything, no retraction, and more… Anyone have this list in the language of the Bambu Studio that I assume many of us are using?
Thanks
