I made a comment on someone’s model challenging it’s purpose. Basically the dimensions of model taken from stl/3mf file did not match the dimension of part for which the model is meant for.
I did not give him any rating, instead just posted that in a form of constructive feedback, providing explanation, reasoning for my claim and video showing why finished print does not work. In response:
Author basically said “my model is perfect, you are the problem that you cant use 3d printer”
Then author turned on account commenting restriction
3. Finally i found out he blocked me all together from commenting on his models and even rating his models
Is that behaviour even “legal”? For me it looks as straight abuse of blocking system which is meant for fighting spam and bots and is used just to keep pristine clear reputation and rating, like:
“oh no somebody has problem with my model? better block them before they even rate it”
Well its not against any known laws, so yes its legal
Its a bit of a ■■■■■■ move to use the feature like that and i’ve had someone do something similar, they made a pointless comment on one of my models about something which was clearly user error and then blocked me so i couldn’t reply to their comment to point out it was user error
Specifically in my case he complained that the print profile sized and only listed for the H2 wouldn’t work on the P1, but because he blocked me i can’t point out he should have known that with there not being a P1 profile no idea if @Astara uses the forums or not
Yeah. Some people will do that. Nothing against any of MW policies, it is just scummy. I’ve had a few people do this to me, leave an honest rating, get an insulting response, then find out you are blocked when trying to respond.
I say just block them back and never support them by printing any of their models.
I personally block everyone who rates below 5 stars without explanation/ proof. Don’t have time to deal with people who can’t be bothered to write what was wrong.
