Lastnite i decided to try and build a little base/plinth for a model i recently printed
so i opened up studio
added a primitive cylinder and sized it , then i added a part (cube) as a base , booleaned them both into one , no problems ,i then added a second cylinder ,again as a part ,booleaned them, again no issue , i then added a second cube (part) as a kind of lid and booleaned the part , when the slicer gave me an error of boolean failed because there is an intersection, although all the parts do actually join together as one, so im looking for possible reasons as to why the error might occur , is it a false error or do i just need to reposition the top part by a layer or something similar ?
Amazing you got it to work at all. I cannot even get it to work reliably on two primitives much less complex models. Bambu seems to have it together on so many points, but this command, it is a totally useless feature. What works fine as a negative part just completely fails when you try and do a boolean operation instead of a slice. Something is just wrong about the code. Run models through Blender fix and it does nothing to help. Even just the basic models just will not work reliably. I suggest that someone take a look at the code line by line. Something is definitely wrong and it is not the models, it is the software. Any problem it finds should be clearly listed for a problem to solve not just “sorry guys, this failed”. Very, very frustrating that Bambu has let this un-functional routine go this long without being fixed. How about a feature that lets you print to an obj file. So, the output would be an obj file that reflects all the modifications that were done in the app. Or, if you could just fix this routine, that would work too. Also, is the mac version EVER going to have a repair feature?? What is the hold up on finishing this part of the software? App runs sooooo much faster on an mac M3 or M4 than on anything with a Windows logo on it.
