Brand new A1 broken within 19 days

I bought the Bambu A1 when it came out 12/14 and received it 12/21. Gave to my daughter on Xmas and it has broke on 1/13/24. I opened service ticket US240114219001 and received a response on 1/17/24. I replied to that response within one hour and 45 mins of receiving it and up till now I have heard NOTHING back! This really sucks. I can’t use the printer.

During a print the temp showed the normal 65 degrees and then it all of a sudden said the bed was 95 to 100 but the bed is completely cold. Since opening the ticket the printer has been off. The bed does not heat up. If I turn it on, the nozzle says 18 - 20 but the bed says its 95 and it jumps to 100 immediately. I can’t get any response to my ticket and I can’t use the printer. Can someone please help me with this issue?

Suggests a problem with the heated sensor unit? A1 Heatbed Unit Installation Tutorial | Bambu Lab Wiki (scroll down a bit)

Sadly not on their spare parts store; so looks like you’ll have to wait on them (there is a heatbed sensor for X1/P1, but looks different from the one in the wiki).

The only other thing I could think of trying is updating the firmware? (Though if you’ve already installed it, not sure if it’s possible to reinstall). Tho I don’t think this is a software problem so not confident it would work but can’t think of anything else to try.

Thank you, when support responded on 1/17/24 they said the heat bed sensor “may” be bad. Then they asked me if it resets when I turn the printer off / on or can I manually change the bed temp in the “control” tab. I have factory reset the print. I’ve tried recalibration. I can’t print as the bed does not heat up at all. Since you can’t get a heat bed or a thermister in their store, Im just down.

Thats my complaint. I can’t fix it and they WON’T respond to my service ticket.

I had hoped they would exchange the printer under their less than 30 days critical failure / mfg defect part of their return / warranty policy but Im not getting anything in response to my service ticket. It really sucks!

I don’t have an A1 so I can’t say how hard this would be but try reseating the connections for the sensor. Sometimes disconnecting and reconnecting them cleans off some dirt and it will start working again.

Thank you, the connects are glued to the bottom of the heat bed and are connected. This issue arose after 400 plus hours or printing. They are clean and cannot come apart as after they are connected to the heat bed there is glue placed around the connectors to ensure they can’t move / come loose

theres a wiki for the A1 heat bed maintenance / replacement that shows how its glued in.

But I really appreciate the suggestion!

Blegh; I’m sorry you’re dealing with this
I hope BambuLab does right and makes you whole asap

Thank you, I really hope so too. I’ve tried following up on the ticket and posting here and I have yet to receive a response. Nothing I can do until they feel like getting back to me.

Looks like the the sensor connects to the the connector which goes into the bed wire harness which will come out in the bottom of the base somewhere and join to the board. You could make sure that there is continuity from the board to the sensor on both wires. You also check to make sure that something didn’t rub through or cut into the bed wire harness.

Wires change color at the sensor connector from black/red to white/teal or something. The glue will have to be broken loose or cut to remove the sensor anyway if they send you a new one.

I would disconnect the sensor connector and measure the thermistor on resistance between the red and black wires and note the resistance.

I received an A1 mini at Christmas which just didn’t turn on, the main board was faulty. It took me a month to have them accroît to take it back. They told me that when you open a ticket if you keep adding to this ticket because you desperately want an abs er, the robot puts you at the back of the queue and when I only answered when they contacted me I had an answer the following day.

This is what happened with mine. After 13 days Im paying for the advance exchange but will have to print the safety clip they mention in the recall
