I’ve designed a few lightboxes and printed a few lightboxes from others. The design this generator makes, in my opinion, is of the least desired type. What I mean by that is, for light install/wiring purposes, it is much easier and makes more sense to have the back be deeper than the front so that you can attach the lights/wiring to the back part rather than to the front. If this change were to be implemented, or at least provided as an option, I feel the lightbox maker would be much more suitable for use. Aside from that, it is a cool feature and saves a lot of time manually creating lightboxes in CAD so thanks for that!

Very cool idea but there are problems. I can’t add more colors under any circumstances, I think it’s a problem with the site, but I’ve been struggling for an hour and nothing works. No matter what number I put in the Color Count, it resets to 1

I have to agree with @Texas3DPolymers - the perimeter wall should be part of the back instead of being part of the lens. It makes the back into a simple unit that houses all the leds and wiring. It’s just much more convenient and makes wiring easy.

@BambuLab - the white layers in the back are a nice touch. Glad to see that gaining traction.

Tool looks good.

Jai réalisé une light box pour mon entreprise. Je rencontre un problèmes sur la solidité.

It would also be an advantage if the colored front surface served as a lid – that way, if the print ends up imperfect due to, for example, a filament blob, you would only need to reprint the flat lid instead of the entire housing

@BambuLab - Any plans to provide an option to have the colored/image/front surface be a pressure-fit lid, as others have mentioned? Having the image as a front thin piece is better in every way. It gives space for electronics, and if need be to re-print, it can just print the sensitive part that matters (the photo) instead of the entire structure. If this change is made, I can see this being a great tool!

Absolutely! Please Bambu add the option to print the face of the light box separate from the back and sides and this tool will be fantastic. It would also be nice to be able to add a hole on the sides of the light box for power connectors. I drill them now which is fine but would just make things easier.

Yes please allow us to print the face separate from the sides and back. Electronics are so much easier to install.
