BS - How to add model instances

As a new user, I am probably missing something obvious, but I cannot figure a way to add multiple instances of the same model. When I open a 3mf from PrusaSlicer that has multiple instances, it shows up in BS correctly so it understands the concept and heirchial properties of what an instance is.
But there is no option to add more. In PS, there are “+” and “-” buttons (and shortcuts) in the main tool bar that are missing on BS.

Copy/Pasting and Cloning add copies of the same model just fine, but their object settings must be managed on a per model basis. Instances of a model all share the same changes.

I am also interested to know how to do this.

You can either clone after you’ve done with the settings on the first object, or clone them select all the objects, right click and select “assemble” then you can change the settings on the whole assembly.

That doesn’t exactly match the use case or the benefits of instances of an object. Native functionality and parity with PrusaSlicer on this would be appreciated. Github feature request here;
