BUG REPORT: Unable to edit any settings in slicer

Extremely slow response in the settings options, to clicks or mouse wheel scrolling… I cannot edit any settings for models anymore because of this.

The slicing process and the tools at the top on the right work fine. But I am not able to get into the settings for global nor individual objects or plates because scrolling and clicking to view settings or change settings is extremely slow or does not ever respond. Sometimes it takes as long as a minute for it to move down a tiny bit.

This is making it impossible to prepare a project file for makerworld. Please fix this ASAP. I basically cannot use the printer until this is resolved as I cannot edit any settings for any models.

I asked on reddit and other people are experiencing this too. Its not just me. https://www.reddit.com/r/BambuLab/comments/1n43vb7/slicer_so_slow_now_its_almost_impossible_to_use/

I also tried installing an older version and the problem somehow magically is on older versions even though it is a somewhat new problem. I have noticed that interacting with the settings has been buggy and slow for months now but today it is at the point that it cannot be used at all.

What OS version?
What Bambu Studio version?

I found a solution. uninstall bambu. and create a NEW FOLDER in your programs folder. This is the important part. then install the new download into the new folder. If you use the existing folder or a “created” folder from the installation wizard, the problem will remain. So its an issue caused by the registry not getting updated properly. So step 1. uninstall bambustudio. step2. create a new folder in your programs folder. I named mine “bambu created”. step 3. download bambulab installation file. step 3. when installing it gives you an option of where to instal. Put it in your new folder. 4. when installing, do not select the option to import previous settings or anything like that. You need to do a clean installation. It doesnt take too long to set up.
