Ok, I have set up my one A! and one A1-Mini with AMS and with both of these printers I noticed the build plate either moves or I don’t get it exactly centered even though I am using the built in centering guide on the back of the bed. I have seen somewhere on the forum that there are some alignment corner pieces for the back of the bed that I believe are to care care of this annoyance. Does anybody use them and do they create any other problems? And what is a good link for these if I want to print and install them if they are recommended?
Thanks!
Will this one work on the A1 series?
A1 Build Plate Aligner
It will not.
easily center your build plate on Bambu Lab 3D Printers (X1C/P1S/P1P Style).
Ok, well I thought maybe I would get lucky as there are 25 print profiles and if you click on the A1 Mini it appears to show some for that. But you are probably right. Do you know of one that is good and for the A1 series?
I have the A1 mini and found it easy to nail the centre point, far easier than my A1 (not mini) when I had one).
You do NOT need anything to help you.
The A1 may require one (I used one) as it does not have any easy metal central alignment guide (not what it is called) that the A1 mini comes with.
This whole process takes a couple of seconds.
- I hold the plate at the very front part, where no printed material will be placed.
- I offer the build-plate to the printer whilst holding it at an angle of around 45º
- I place the back of the plate down, still at an angle, very close to the back of the bed.
- I slide the build plate towards the back, making sure to centre it to the central metal part
- I allow the plate to come down, whilst controlling the descent and not letting the magnets choose my speed
- I make any minor adjustments as it goes dowm
- I make sure it is still locked into the central metal section at the back and let go of the front of the build-plate
It is perfectly centred.
So I guess I just have to be aware and be extra diligent when putting my sheet on the printers. I read about issues with the A1 build plate aligners with certain newer firmware causing them to be hit by the print head. Thanks for the info on how you align yours. It may have been that the z axis was too low after the new calibration on the first run or I just didn’t notice.
