Build Plates for H2C

With ASA and ABS do not use an adhesive layer on the Glacier or you pull the coating off the plate (happened to me).

I bought a BIQU Panda BuildPlate CryoGrip Pro build plate for my H2C.

In bambu Studio there is no option to choose this build plate for h2c. What do I do to tell the printer that I’m using the cryogrip? Is there a way I can add my own build plate types? What settings do I need to tweak?

The encoding on the CryoGrip is the same as “Smooth PEI/High Temp Plate”

But there is no PEI/High Temp Plate for choosing - only Engineering / Textured PEI and Cool Plate Super Track. I choose the Cool Plate Super Track if i use my biqu glacier

This is one reason why I’m happy to see the A2L use the same size build plate as the H2C. It may generate more options down the road if there’s a greater demand volume.

I’m having good success with the Engineering plate setting for my Glacier. I also have a Frostbite, and have had poor adhesion with the Cool Plate setting on a couple of prints, so I’ve abandoned it for now. So far only PLA and PETG.

Just to mention, for 3rd party plates it doesn’t really matter which plate is selected in the slicer, as long as it’s not the “Textured PEI” plate (unless the plate vendor specifically suggests that one). What matters is the temperatures configured for the chosen plate in the filament profile(s) being used. If one of the stock plates already uses recommended temperatures, great, but I personally wouldn’t count on that.

The reason I say “not Textured” is because there are special exceptions in many of the g-code templates for the textured PEI plate specifically (such as adjusting Z offset after calibration to account for the texture).

Also to note is that if a filament profile sets a plate temperature to 0 (zero), and that plate/filament combo is chosen, Studio will warn about that plate not being compatible with the filament. But that plate type can still be used, as long as the temperatures are adjusted.

If the plate code scanning is ever fixed then it may make sense to choose a corresponding plate in the slicer (and re-enable build plate detection on the printer), assuming the plate even has a code.

And yea newer Studio versions removed the “high temp plate” choice for us H2C users, which is annoying. I posted one workaround here: New version of bambu studio - smooth PEI plate no longer showing for H2C - #8 by MaxThreeD

I just use the Engineer Plate mode on the H2C Glacier, been working fine. Very similar textures.

I like a lot GECO plate for PLA and i cant find for H2C, is sad.
