I just noticed that my X1C cable chain is sagging and rubbing against the carbon rods. Additionally, the cable chain and bowden tube appear to be smacking against the chamber wall and marking it up. I can’t tell if the cable chain, tube, or rod are being damaged, as it’s printing at the moment. Should I be concerned, and how should I fix this? TY
Not sure about the chain, mine is 5mm above the rods or so, but I did put a piece of foam tape on the case where the chain and tube were contacting making an annoying clicking noise.
Yeah. I noticed there’s a small piece of something stuck up there, but it really should cover the whole area. Thanks for your reply
Figured it out. The extruder end of the chain wasn’t inserted into the hole at the top of the print head like it should be. Paused my print and stuck it in there. Hoping it holds up. I didn’t want to use too much force and move the print head and cause a layer shift. Def need to put something up in the chamber to stop the clacking there, though…
That’s a very loose fit though, I guess the tube needs to slide in the clamp. But I hear a ‘clanking’ noise when the printhead moves rapidly to the front and then stops just as abruptly. I guess the inertia in the chain/bowden tube makes the two move slightly forward and upwards and they hit the top glass plate. It might not cause any damage but it is an annoying sound. I guess your idea with the foam tape might work here too, as a damper.
Best Regards.
