Cable for the AMS lite

Hi, does anyone know if the cable for the AMS lite is a standard cable of some sort? I would like to replace it, or extend it! I have my setup in a rather cramped area. That means that I first of all have to rotate the A1 priner 90 degrees. I would like to just hang up the AMS on the wall behing! But the cabkle that’s included is not longer that I can mount it on the frame. Anything else and the cable becomes to short! I would urge BL to include a longer cable! AT least 1m!

I’m having the same problem that the cable between the AMS lite and the A1 is too short.

I also need an extension for the cable - 1m would be good.

This supposedly works. I might try it.

Bambu, with undoubted the influx of new bambu users (myself included), it would be a wise move to make an official bambu ams lite extension cable. A 1 meter offering would be sufficient for most users.

One thing to make sure of is to include a ferrite on the cable, just like on the ams lite unit’s cable.

I expect the ports on the A1 Mini for the AMS Lite are just USB ports - however they are not standard USB sockets - if Bambu Labs made a spare cable to fit these ports then the AMS could be relocated with a longer cable or the ports could be used to power something else - perhaps the Panda Touch screen.

I have the same issue that i need more space for the ams lite.
So i orderd this cable on amazon [J&D 2er Pack ATX 4 Pin CPU Männlich auf Weiblich Verlängerungs Kabel - 20cm] after seeing this in another forum.
They also used this one [Delock Micro Fit 3.0 4 Pin Verlängerungskabel Stecker > Buchse 30 cm] but with amazon it arrieves faster and no costs for the transport.

Sorry cant post Links

Did you guys find a suitable solution to this issue?
I did not see anyone mention if this was the 4 pin or 6 pin cable.

There’s a guy on etsy - Joshua Cunningham, that sells a 4 pin straight through extension cable that works with an AMS to extend the 4 pin cable. I have one, it works.

I can suggest, with his blessing that you reach out to him about your requirement. He’s reasonable priced too.

Not sure why this hasn’t been answered - It is a standard 4 pin molex cable and you can use any male to female 4 pin molex extension cable - do not pay more than a few dollars/quid it isn’t a special cable

Thank you… I expect that an extension cable is just straight through… but if one wanted to build a longer single cable, without need of an extension, since the signal is RS485, there’s likely a crossover wiring TX-RX RX-TX … so for an extension, straight through works… for a longer replacement cable, crossover wiring would be necessary

I found one on Amazon that works fine. Pretty good construction, too.

surprised they didn’t already have one

You can give this extension cord a try. It’s a perfect fit for AMS Lite.

Update:

I had bought 2 DeLock extensions and put them in chain.
Now I wanted to move the AMS Lite because I had printed a housing and then disconnected the cable. After that, I didn’t pay attention correctly to how I had plugged the cable together and probably damaged the motherboard of the A1. AMS Lite is no longer recognized. Get a new board now for 58 €.

The question of whether there is an official cable for the extension is still unanswered. Nevertheless, I can now find various cables on Amazon. I need an extension, so I’ll have to look for a new one.

Just as an update for you: cable caused damage and of course no warranty

There is an official cable for this folks…

Oh wait, I realize the issue, its male to male… so a replacement and not an extender…

Scrap that, wasn’t what you wanted, have edited/deleted post, apologies

Did you track down something suitable?

After changing the mainboard of the a1, which i have to pay, the ams lite still has 4 red lights… hopefully i have to wait for the activation of the board. If not it seems that the ams lite also has a problem… damn… :face_with_peeking_eye::face_with_peeking_eye: my own fault but its painful.
