Calibration isn't letting me access the AMS filaments

I wanted to to try running the calibration tests in which you can save the settings, but the lidar is still invovled.

I watched a video on how to do it, but when they showed that you have a choice of which filament from the ams you want to calibrate, I looked at my choices, and it only showed the non ams loaded filament as an option.

Any idea how to fix this? The AMS is plugged in and working with normal prints.

What slicer are you using Bambu studio or Orca slicer and do you have the current versions ?

Have you tried to reset the external filament from the AMS and see what happens.

Are you wanting to do manual or auto calibration? I was not clear on that.

I have tried it in both Orca and Bambu slicer. Same result.
What do you mean by “Reset the external filament”? If you are referring to “syncing” the AMS with the slicer, I did a full resync.

I want to do the auto calibration, and save the settings.

The AMS should still work without the reset button but it’s something we can try.

It could be a firmware bug. What version are you running on the printer and ams ?
.

Let’s reset the ext spool: see sample it shows ASA or maybe yours is already empty.

Ex1

.

Click the reset button and ok

ex2
.

Now it is empty

ams3
.

Can you see this from the calibration tab I think you do

.

Then you should be able to pick your filaments in the AMS slots

Run the test and save the settings or put the settings into Orca slicer PA and exit the test and don’t save it.

Thank you.

Where is the reset button? Is this something in the software on my desktop, or is it using the screen on the printer iteself?

Both have it unless you have older AMS firmware it might not show up

I didn’t install the latest firmware, but I have everything up to date except for the latest. Was there a button labeled “reset” in any of the pictures you posted? If not, can you post a pic of where the reset button is?

This may be related, but I have realized that the printer won’t let me load any filament now. I was using the outside spool for some tpu, and now anytime I try to load from the outside spool or the AMS, it just gets stuck at “Pull out the old filament”. There isn’t any in there, so I’m assuming that there may be some stuck, clogged in the extruder. I am really not looking forward to taking apart the extruder. I have some vision and dexterity issues that are going to make this really unpleasant.

Look @ # 2 photo = Reset

Yes tpu can get stuck in the extruder or clog the nozzle the extruder has a filament sensor on the top also

Had the same issue. Found out I had some filament stuck/left in the PTFE->Extruder. Removed it and then the AMS showed up in calibration again.

I completely forgot to come back once I figured out what was going on. It was nozzle clog in the hot end that caused it.
