Hello! 3D printing noobie here!
I have a p1s, which I just tried to upgrade from a p1p, so I’m expecting broken cables/parts.
The 2 problems I am having are as follows:
When calibrating, the toolhead gets to 24%, then moves directly above the filter, and then stops. It then no longer moves at all.
When loading filament, the printer says loading, and shows the three dots, but then does nothing. The AMS (Gen 1) doesn’t pull it through at all.
I am using a new toolhead cable which looks like its plugged in correctly on both sides, but it starts by reading a temperature of about 9C, and then quickly drops down to 0C.
Also, it does home correctly in the X, Y, and Z directions.
I would post pictures, but I don’t know what to take pictures of.
What are you calling an upgrade?
If you installed the Enclosure Update kit, you still have a P1P. It just has an enclosure and some other peripheral hardware.
P1P and P1S have different electronics PCB’s that are not interchangeable
Plate and nozzle temperatures show the actual and the setpoint A/SP format. The setpoint will typically show 0°C when the heating circuits are off. The actual will show the ambient room temperature when the heating circuits are off and the nozzle and bed are cool.
I had same thing when I first got mine. Have you done any other mods to it or bought aftermarket parts?
Have you tried all the filaments in the AMS to make sure it isn’t just the AMS primary feeder? Tends to default to the #1 slot so maybe try a different slot. Calibration may not let you do that. Check the buffer to make sure it isn’t hanging up. Can you see the filament in the PTFE tubing? Darker colors you should be able to see the filament run into the toolhead.
Have you factory reset it? Were you printing prior to do the upgrade? If so probably focus on those items. I looked at the parts kit that comes with that upgrade and it looks like they have you replacing some of that tubing.
You can get a long strand of the filament and push it from the back of the AMS all the way to the toolhead and see if you can feel it hitting something on the way.
No filament is being pulled through. As far as I know, nothing is coming through.
I have factory reset it. I printed a couple of small items before the upgrade, but all of them were print failures. I figured I would look at that after I got it upgraded. I bought all my parts from Bambu Labs website. I did replace the tubing you’re talking about. I haven’t done any other mods aside from adding different feet, but I assume that won’t cause any computer problems.
I think I answered all your questions. If I missed any, let me know. I was trying to do 2 things while typing this up.
If you load filament into one of the AMS slots how much does it feed towards the printer before it rewinds?
What tubing did you replace?
What happens when you use Bambu Handy or Studio to feed filament to the toolhead
If you click on the RED circled icon it will cause your AMS to go through the RFID Read process.
If you click one of the slots circled in blue it should illuminate the LOAD & UNLOAD buttons. Maybe try running through those evolutions. LOAD should run filament all the way to the toolhead and if you have a darker filament to choose from you should be able to see filament from when it exits AMS all the way to the toolhead.
It doesnt feed into the printer at all, as in, it doesnt even go down into the filament buffer or anything. I can see the filament in the tubes clearly, it’s simply not there.
I replaced the tubing that feeds from the back into the tubehead.
I can’t use the Bambu Handy of Studio apps yet. One of the things I broke while doing the upgrade was the wifi card and I’m waiting on a new one to arrive in the mail. I was hoping there was some kind of solution I could do without that stuff. If not, then I’ll wait until it comes in this week or next, and update this post.
I have the exact same issue. I bought the P1P in January, used it for several months and then upgraded it with the enclosure kit and the AMS Pro. I installed both at the same time. I turned it on and began calibration and it gets stuck at 24%. I also got the error code 0500 0300 0001 0002. I have the same issue with the temp… it starts at 20 or so and then drops to 0 After working through support ticket, the sent a new TH board which I have replaced but it still gets stuck at 24% on calibration.
Also, the AMS but tension on the filaments but it never extended it out of the AMS, so there is no filament in the tube going to the printer. Might that the be the issue?
Check the connections in the print head and make sure they are all fully and properly inserted. I didn’t get one of them inserted properly after performing maintenance and had a similar experience.
Is there any wire in particular that I need to watch out for, or just all of them? Also, do you know where I can find a picture of what the wiring behind the print head should look like if its properly done, which I can use to compare with what I have?
It is unlikely but possible. Is it the board which is behind the touchpad? Mounted in upper left corner of frame. Literally directly behind the touchpad.
This is the board that has a USB-A female socket AND the SC-Card reader on it.
Take a picture of the board that broke and ideally the actual broken location.
There are boards in the toolhead but based on the parts in the upgrade kit you would not have had a reason to have to tinker with those boards unless something happened when installing the toolhead chain or cable
SOLUTION: One of the cables (I think my toolhead cable) was not seated properly in the toolhead circuit board. I just unplugged all my cables on the toolhead circuit board and made sure all of them are properly plugged in, and it started working properly.
