Hi folks, after some time I managed to resolve this issue.
I tried the poking the wire hot/cold method, and a number of other things, but I finally figured to take the piece on the top of the print head off (with a lot of struggling with a plyers, i dunno what magic glue bambu are using), and from there i was able to take out about an inch in length of filament that was totally loose and just sitting in the hole. After taking it out, going through the load process and test printing all seems ok now.
However I am still curious, if the filament that was in the hole was totally lose what was preventing it from going through the nozzle? I could understand if it was difficult to take the piece of filament out but it was completely loose, which makes me think there was somethi9ng under it preventing it being pushed through, yet after taking it out the printer seems to be operating fine now, I am a little confused why this came about in the first place.
