I have a 3d model, imagine an egg shape. I want to split it in two, add magnets around the sides so the top and bottom half stick together and come apart easy. I also want it hollow inside 0 Infill so I can put an led in it. Walls are too thin for magnet negatives.
Is this do able in Bambu or do I need to learn some fusion / tinker!?
add negative part → cylinder to create magnet holes
Many ways to hollow it out, likely easiest way to do is just copypaste it, scale it down a little, position it in there, and then make the smaller copy a negative part. Depending on your model you could maybe get away with it by using a specific # of walls, no bottom shells, and no infill.
Edit: You will drive yourself semi-insane positioning a ring of magnets freehand in the slicer. I’d recommend using at least tinkercad to make a good pattern and export that and use it in place of default cylinders.
Problems are trying to match up the two halves so they have magnet holes directly above. And trying to move the dam negative holes is absolutely infuriating! I’m at the semi insane stage.
I’ve never used tinker cad might be time to learn!
