Can I connect an AMS HT and an AMS 2 Pro at the same time to my X1C?

Can I connect an AMS HT and an AMS 2 Pro both at the same time to my X1C?

I have an X1C with an AMS Hub already installed, and currently have a single AMS 2 Pro connected. I can see on the wiki page ams-ht/manual/intro-and-connection-guide that “X1 and P1 series printers support up to 4 AMS HT units simultaneously”, but what I can’t seem to find is can I simultaneously connect a mix of AMS 2 Pro units with AMS HT units?

The page for the HT states that if you are connecting 1 HT then you can get by with the buffer. If you are connecting more than on HT and/or AMS(2) to a P1 or X1, then you need the buffer. From that, I would say yes, it can be connected. I have not ordered one yet, but it is in the plan.

Thank you Steve, I’m feeling like a bit of a crazy person because I swear I’ve seen similar text but now I can’t find it. What I’ve found is on the product page for the AMS HT down in the “Explore more about AMS HT” section

2.Can the AMS HT be used with the X series and P series printers?

If only connecting one AMS HT to a X or P series printer, the PTFE tube coupler, 4-pin cable and Filament Buffer are required. If connecting multiple AMS HT units, we recommend that you purchase an AMS Hub.

Near the top of the Overview on the same product page there’s a section that says

24-Colors/Multi-material
Serial connect up to 4 AMS 2 Pro & 8 AMS HT, total of 24 filaments

But that is referring to functionality that’s specific to the H2D.

I’m having trouble finding the specific text you’re referencing, maybe I’m just not looking in the right place.

If anyone is currently running an AMS 2 Pro and an AMS HT both connected to an X1C at the same time please chime in, that would answer this question immediately instead of digging through and trying to interpret various specs and product claims.

I think I just answered my own question, I found this on the wiki page for the AMS compatibility guide, buried down under the legacy AMS compatibility section

X1/P1 Series Printers
Max Connections: Up to 4 AMS (shared limit with AMS 2 Pro/HT).

I’d still love to hear from someone who is actually running an AMS 2 Pro and an AMS HT at the same time on their X1C before spending the $ on the HT.
