Can no longer connect P1P to Wifi, incorrect password error

“The fix is to set the ip reserved for your printer.”
Great! But - how do we do this?

Pretty savvy but I don’t think I’ve seen setting that sound like this for my gateway. It’s a fairly new model.
FWIW I’ve already renamed the 2.4ghz band.

@knightrdr2004 - any help appreciated! See my previous question. Thx

I’ve been having this issue for a year now. It’s honestly unreal that bambu has such a great printer with such terrible software. PLEASE FIX THIS BAMBU, it’s not acceptable. I have no idea exactly what fixes it, but my method that works sometimes is to factory reset the printer, remove the bambu app, go into bluetooth settings on my phone and forget the printer, then go through the whole setup process again. This does not always work, but does more often than not. Unfortunately there is no rhyme or reason as to how long this lasts. Sometimes its until the next time I turn the printer off, sometimes it’s a week. Needless to say, using this printer has become a total chore and ruins what is otherwise a great printer.

Same issue. Lost connection last night and instead of troubleshooting it I figured i’d just disconnect from the internet and reconnect. Big mistake, haven’t had any issues or changes in over a year, and now NOTHING. Just incorrect password, which it isn’t. Be better Bambu, your product is too good to let something like this brick a device.

Same here, my P1S cannot comnect to the wifi since 4 months now, and after months of extremely sloppy customer “service”, and following the logs, for the bambu support team it was a problem with the wifi cable, which they promised to send me a replacemet, but made a mistake and sent me a totally unrelated item. I am so tired of this issue and their shitty response times and low effort solutions that i am focusing now on my new Qidi Q1 Pro, and as it is completeley open, with no risks of intellectual data theft, as it does not require a cloud (anothers person computer) to fuction properly. Yes I can confirm the Q1 is a great machine and, comparable to the P1S with added bonus of a 60C. heated chamber, and an easy to service 350C. inox-tungsten nozzle (optional). So boo bye bambu, it was nice to meet you but i will build my 3d printing farm with your upcoming competitors, not with you. Thank you!

Same problem with me. My printer randomly just stopped connecting, disconnected from wifi wouldn’t connect, factory reset wouldn’t connect. Says wifi password is incorrect (it is). My IP on printer is 00000. Anyone figure it out?

Just had this issue. Some of the responses is correct but leaves out things. Once you split your networks change the name to the 2.4 one.

this video on youtube helped me but the interface is different. Search for ( How To: Xfinity Wi-Fi Splitting Tutorial (Split 2.4GHz - 5GHz) Comcast Fix 2022 :100::smiley: )

you may need to type in the password 3 times but it eventually took it and the printer is back online.

I had same issue. What worked for me was to keep retrying my password. Third time was the charm for me. Hope this helps.

Changing the channel on my router worked for me. Am investigating reseriving the IP address. I can separately set SSIDs for my 2.4 and 5 GHz networks.

I had this issue and it was driving me crazy. In the end, my ad blocker (pi-hole) on the network was the problem. I disabled it temporarily and was able to configure wifi normally.

If you have an ad blocker like Pi-Hole or Ad-Guard, try disabling it before you configure your printer.

FIX FOR XFINITY USERS.

You need to split your network into a 2.4ghz and 5/6 ghz(these will also be separate if available in your area)

You then need to log into your 2.4 ghz network on your phone and make the password different than your other netwrk bands. When you attempt to connect the app should give you the stupid error once, then immediately once you resubmit you should see it connecting…

Hey, so I had this issue today with my P1S, and it drove me insane. Thankfully I’ve recovered from it, and I have a few good bits of advice:

  • First, do the obvious power cycle on everything. Router, printer, even your phone and computer. I’d also recommend reinstalling the Bambu Handy phone app.

  • If you have Xfinity, download the app and login. You’ll need this to change the right settings, and won’t be able to do it through a browser at your router’s address. You can still log in to the router and get some options. If you’re lucky enough to not need an app to control your router, congrats! The troubleshooting in this will probably still help, just not the direct steps. I used the Rogers Xfinity app, and will walk through that.

  • Try disabling the 5 GHz network and attempt to connect again. I was able to do this on my browser at the router’s address. For me, that’s 10.0.0.1. If it’s the first time you do this on your network, you’ll get a prompt to change your password. After logging in, select the “connection” dropdown on the left and select “WiFi”. You should see your networks listed, with an “Edit” button on the right side. Click edit for the 5 GHz and if applicable, 6 GHz networks. In the edit menu, click the “disable” button to the right of the green “enable” button. This should leave only the 2.4 GHz network enabled. Try reconnecting in the app. If this works, great! If it doesn’t, enable your 2.4 and 5 GHz networks again.

  • Split your WiFi frequency bands. Using the “Rogers Xfinity” App; go to the “WiFi” tab, it’s one of the four options at the bottom. Select “WiFi details” and click on the network you want to connect your printer to. This should bring up a QR code to connect, and a few details: the network SSID (name), password, a share button, and an “edit WiFi settings” button at the bottom. Select edit WiFi settings, this will bring up a menu with WiFi name, password, and security mode. Below that are two toggles, the bottom one says “Split bands (not recommended)”. Enable this, which will make each GHz network appear as a separate network. Otherwise, one SSID will actually be several networks, with the router assigning the frequency “automatically”. No idea how or why but it seems to mess with the Handy App pairing a printer. You can also make the names and passwords different for the 2.4, 5, and if applicable, 6 GHz networks. If this works, great! It worked for a bunch of people, but not me. If your printer still won’t connect to the specifically named 2.4 GHz network;

  • Force the Channel Select and Channel Width. In the “WiFi” tab, select the “view WiFi equipment” menu, then “advanced settings”, then “WiFi bands”. Select “edit” on the right side of the “2.4 GHz WiFi” banner. Uncheck the box labelled “Use suggested channel settings”, then set the “Channel” dropdown to 6; and set the “Channel Width” dropdown to 20 MHz. I don’t know if it has to be these settings, I just know that my printer worked when I set them to this, and I won’t change it anytime soon. If this works for you, great! If not, one last workaround:

  • Use your phone to hotspot your printer. This is the last chance option. If nothing else has worked for you, just try connecting to your phone’s hotspot. This did get my printer working again.

Let me know if any of this worked for you, like it worked for me! Most of what I wrote here is just a slightly better summary of what a bunch of others said; I’m just posting it so people who start at the most recent post when troubleshooting will see something useful. Hope this helps!

That also helped me! Thank you so much for sharing.

Didn’t work for me. I fixed the issue with the help of WiFi extender. There are single band ones. TP-Link N300 is the one I used.
