Can no longer select the External feed!

OK I’m in need of your help as to what I’m doing wrong!
When I print with a generic TPU (I used to load it up, select it and print).
Now (Since the last update) I try to select the ext slot and get this (See pic below)
TPU-1

If I then go to the device page it shows the the ext slot if loaded and ready! (See pic below)

TPU-2

Help Please, I have printed this many times before just fine!

It appears that the AMS option is still enabled. Please deselect it, and the external spool should then display correctly.

Yep that’s my problem since the update I can no longer de-select the AMS!
See attached

Click on the external spool when it is loaded and you send it to print ,this should over ride the ams unless you are trying to use both systems to print an object , then it throws an error msg saying not to use together

The file has been sliced with PLA your first picture at the top. the tool tip also is telling you it’s sliced for PLA

Needs to be a corresponding filament to select the ext spool

Sorry for being thick, so what you are saying is that you can’t have PLA in the AMS but print with TPU on the ext slot!
So have I’ve got to disconnect the ASM to print TPU from the ext slot.
Sorry if I’m misunderstanding you

Sorry I’m thick but the only way I can get it to slice in PLA is to disconnect the AMS! Any other way i try it slices to what’s in the AMS! It seemed so simple before when you could de-select the AMS without disconnecting it!

Like @duane777 has pointed out slice the print to use tpu ,if that is all you are using , you may need to edit the ext spool to show tpu in the printer filament tab also
@user_2511502048
let me edit this one for you

there`s two images ,unfortunatley i dont have an x1 to show where to edit filaments on/in the printer , perhaps some one else will be able to help with that

OK Thanks for all the help, as there is no longer a de-select for the AMS I think my best way is to disconnect the AMS whenever I want to print using a generic TPU :frowning:
I’m not good at this but there is NO way i can find to slice it to use TPU!
If someone could post a picture where I click to do that? or a spep by step idiot’s guide!

Sounds like you’re struggling to understand what’s being suggested. If you don’t slice the model with the correct type of filament, it won’t show up when you go to print.

I’ll try to break it down.

On the Prepare tab make sure you have your filament synchronized with what’s loaded into your printer and AMS. In my picture you can see TPU as an option, which is currently loaded on an external spool.

Next you’ll need to change the filament that your model is using. This is the most important step. If you select a PLA filament, you will not be given an option to print with the external TPU filament. You NEED to select TPU here for you to slice it with the correct filament and for it be selectable on the next step.

Now slice and print the plate. Now that you have the correct filament selected when you sliced the model, you will now have the option to choose the external TPU spool.

Thank you, think I’m getting it now, I have to trick the AMS into thinking that in one of it’s 4 slots is the filament type that you want to print on the ext slot!
As well as selecting the required filament in prepare!
Sorry I must sound SO thick, thanks for your help!
