I often like to plate things, but it’s so clunky. It’s difficult to make multiple copies of things because you can only do it one object at a time and there’s not hot key. PrusaSlicer has + for this. Cura has Ctrl+M. Flashprint has Ctrl+V.
My work around right now is to abuse the copy buffer and copy and paste them in, but that’s not the best way IMHO, and it doesn’t retain settings, like if I have objects I want to use as flush objects. It should be easier to setup and plate prints.
Mark an object, Ctrl+C → Ctrl+V…V…V…V…V
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Yeah, that’s the workaround. But, again, everyone else has a hotkey, and it’s a workflow I prefer.
Right click object, click Clone, enter desired number of copies. Not a big difference between one key vs two clicks, especially if my hand is already on the mouse.
So, 2 things about that. You’re ignoring the mouse move. I can find a key on my keyboard much faster than a precise click. And the clone command only works on one object at a time. Select a bunch and try that.
Sorry to dig out an old topic but I was thinking it might be useful to be here along with the question for someone searching :
Ctrl+K is now the shortcut for “clone”
Works for parts of assemblies that dont have clone in the R-click menu. Thanks
