Hello fellow 3D printing enthusiasts,
I have had my Bambu Lab X1 Carbon since for a while, and while it is a fantastic printer, I’ve noticed it has a slight oozing issue. This problem is hardly noticeable during most prints, but I believe it is post-print where Bambu Lab should focus their attention. It’s no secret that the machine controls can be a bit unintuitive for users accustomed to more “traditional” 3D printers.
The issue I consistently encounter is the printer leaving small oozed filament bits, approximately 1-2 cm in length, scattered throughout the printer’s interior. To remedy this, I propose the addition of a button within the interface to “Park and Wipe” the nozzle, similar to the existing pause functionality.
With this feature, after a print is completed and the printhead returns to its idle post-print position, users could manually press “Park Toolhead” or “Park and Wipe.” This would move the nozzle over a designated waste chute (or “poop chute”), where it could optionally be wiped. Consequently, idle oozed filament strings would be directed out of the waste chute, rather than accumulating within the printer and potentially affecting future prints.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this proposed feature, as well as any alternative suggestions you may have for addressing this issue. Together, let’s work towards making the Bambu Lab X1 Carbon even better!
Happy printing,
Mark
