Can you explain me what might be causing this top layer defect?

Hi, i was trying to print this hot glue gun stand for my wife

i used bmabu basic blue for the base and elegoo rapid petg for the gun tip resting area (white)

here are the (awful results)

and here is the link to the timelapses from the SD card

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1obIfCU2nRAgwTQU0e2bo0JCGRmdKp6xG?usp=sharing

unfortunately i have a P1S (0.4 stainless) so the framerate is not good (for me) to detect what is going on.

Filament were both dried with a sunlu s2.
Petg was printed directly from s2 dryer while the blue was inside AMS.

previously (this morning) i printed the 2nd place winner of the coffee contest in PETG without a single issue (same setup)

thanks

I say your infill is to low % wise…increase it to 15-20%.
Also, change it to Gyroid or Cross Hatch.

Hi lion7718,
Thanks for your reply,
this is not my model, i tried printing directly from the app, so you think is a problem related to the model and not to some printer setup?

Does this occur on other things you print?

If yes, your problem, if not, their problem.

Indeed @MalcTheOracle I made a series of other prints without issues so I assumed you were right and that problem was in that model or print profile…

Now, it happened again on a model of mine that I had already printed many times without issues.
Since i was using the same bambu PLA basic blue I started suspecting the filament… but then i noticed this

The toolhead fan was disconnected!
I have no idea what happened, I am absolutely sure that the toolhead case did not disconnect during a print (there would have been a warning in the app or studio) and (unless my memory started failing badly) i certainly did not disconnect the fan myself.

Reconnecting the pin and printing the part again came out great.

I am amazed that there is not a sensor telling that the pin was not connected in the first place.

There is a sensor for the magnets, I wonder how it could have disconnected and gotten out like that unless the magnets opened.
