Can you please change editing workflow

Not sure why it was designed this way but making changes to a published model is real PITA.
Can it work like editing draft - in that we start from 3d file and go through few screens?
Now if I wan to add photo and change 3mf file I have to do it twice, waiting for model to be “verified” every time. REAL PITA.

Not ideal, but I set the model to private during upload.

I then add my many profiles and images.

As I often add links to other models in the family I have to edit those in as well.

Once I am sure all is good, I change to public in a final edit and add a post to share the launch.

I try to do all this as quickly as possible as the model upload date and time is from the point I first uploaded it and hit when I first made it public.

It could and should be a better process, many before you have shared the same concerns and complaints.

Thus far, no changes have been made.

A simple one would be the whole process is the same as now but is added as private (or a new category) at first. You do all the changes you need. When you are ready, you choose publish and the model is shared as if it was created just now and is the newest entry when being seen in the newest sort order.

To start in private mode is a good idea to avoid the verification times.

But be carefull when you want to participate in a contest. The date where you first upload the part is taken into account as publish date.

So if you preapare your modell over a week and then make it public and join the contest you have to scroll far down in the contest to find your modell.

I have workflow for it, not much different from yours, but it is still annoying as even if I make model private it still needs to be verified before I can jump to updating 3mf file.
I distinctly remember that in 2023/2024 process looked different but i don’t remember details as I don’t edit often.

anyways, seems Bambu don’t really take user’s feedback in to account anyways so its just a little rant in a vacuum.

This part confuses me.

The process is.

  1. Provide the first 3mf model (which is also the profile)
  2. Enter title, description and more and any images.
  3. Enter the profile specific details if any with a photo.
  4. Submit for review.

If you have more than one profile you have to wait for the review to complete before you can add those.

This basic process has been the same since I upload my first model in January 2024.

The review is automated and only slow when there is a large number being uploaded at the same time of a distributed denial of service attack (DDoS).

You say you have to wait before you update the 3mf file. What are you updating?

when I need to update the 3mf and add photo I have to do it in 4 stages.

  1. Make model private.
  2. Update the photo/description and hit “publish” this then is being verified sometimes quickly, sometimes it takes what feels like eternity.
  3. Once that is done I edit to change the 3mf/print profile. Hit publish again. Wait for it to be verified
  4. Once verified I change it to public.
    Edit:
Maybe I’m doing it wrong but this is the only way I know off.

Edit 2 added screenshot

If I choose upper it only allows edit of description and photos
Bottom only allows edit of 3mf file/print profile

So, you are talking about editing after the initial upload.

If you navigate to the Print Profiles Tab.

Then select the Edit button from the More menu at the bottom, right of the entry.

Edit the profile and then save. Profile edits are usually very quick, even when all else is slow.

Then, edit the model, make those tweaks, maybe reference the multiple profiles in the description.

Save the changes.

You should not need to mark the model private during this, as things done in the correct order will allow the new versions to appear when they need to. I do not set the model to private during these updates.

The likelihood of anyone on your model during the timeslice of updates is statistically irrelevant.

Sorry, yes editing after the initial upload. I make it private just for convenience, if something comes up and I need more time i don’t need to think about it being half-updated.
