Cannot reattach extruder - screws are too short

New to 3D printing. I unscrewed the extruder to do a cold pull. After the pulling the filament, I am unable to reattach the extruder. The screws are suddenly too short LOL. I can screw them into the threads when the extruder is not in place, but with the extruder in place. the screws are not long enough to bit into the threads.

I see the problem. The extruder fits in between an unthreaded plate in front and a mount behind that. The threads are in the mount. I blame bad lighting and poor eyesight.

The extruder may not be fully seated. Wiggle it a bit. I did the same thing and the screws worked fine.

Glad you got it working.

The wiggling helped seat the screws. Thank you.

A little off topic…but it’s good to see you giving out troubleshooting advice rather than seeking it. :grinning::raised_hands::+1:
